Sword fight. Zatoichi vs Akazuka

Commenters on YouTube are helpful in appreciating this scene.

Nobody mentioned the word particle ichi sounds a lot like "one" as in ichi bon honcho. We all learned that as children: ichi ni san shi go roku shichi hachi que jeu.

I liked this movie a lot when I first saw it. Was this the greatest Japanese sword fight ever? It's right up there for me, but it's also context driven. A samurai who must kill someone for spreading propaganda against his lord, but is thwarted by a blind ronin that is protecting this man, his wife, and his child. It's pretty intense.

The Samurai could show mercy but it had to be in his own terms.

That's about all I'm picking up on one take.

That is incredibly intense.

The sword fighting was so good it is hard to believe it was staged - very impressive acting and moving and choreography. How they managed to not actually chop up each other is even more impressive.

Great enunciation by the actors, too, and now I feel like speaking Japanese. Hai!
