Morning sky:
It is windy and rainy, it was hard to get a nonblurry picture due to how much the trees were blowing around and the speed at which the clouds are moving. Things are picking up out there.
The eye of the storm is just about to hit Wilmington. We will probably get wind and rain for the next day or two, but the worst of it will miss us with any luck.

According to Drudge, the winds originally were 150 mph, and now are at 90 mph.
The Paragons make a somewhat severe name like Florence sound quite desirable. But I'm thinking of Flo the diner waitress on TV years ago who was always saying, "well kiss my grits!"
Thanks for the reports, Sixty. Never having been in a hurricane I find the long slow buildup of one after it forms pretty dramatic considering what they're capable of.
Thanks for the update, Sixty.
Stay safe, warm, and dry :)
Stay safe, cool, and dry.
If 60 loses electricity, then we'll have no more updates.
He owes it to us to get an electrical generator before the next hurricane.
Don't listen to Rabel. Stay safe, topped-off, and wash and wear.
Damn Yankees. It's still Summer south of the Mason-Dixon.
Down to a tropical storm, but my goodness the rain. The inventor of rock and roll, Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
So far so good. The storm has now caused at least 5 deaths so it is a bad storm, thankfully, the worst of it has skipped my county.
We are under a flash flood watch for the next couple of days but our rainfall has been minimal. The wind has not been bad, either.
Good news, glad you're safe. My son is in Raleigh and said the lights flickered a little, but stayed on, and it rained earlier, but the wind and rain are gone now. More will come later for sure. The radar shows little bits of rain all across the state now, and into TN and even KY. This is a wet one.
