The storm continues, but it is taking it easy around these parts. Folks down east are in bad shape - my friends who bailed out and drove up here are glad they did - while their house is still above water, power is out and many of their neighbors have water in their homes or are trapped by rising water. Their town has been all over the news and my friends were able to point out local landmarks in the news videos.
We are getting some rain right this minute but as is often the case with hurricanes the rain comes and goes as the rain bands move through the area.
Here is a picture I took just before sunset:
The clouds were racing by and the sun broke through for just a moment.

Hurricane Flo for short.
Flo as in flow.
The rain flow would bring flowers,
Keeping with her full and proper name.
But every blossom has a surging stem behind it,
Flowing up the same.
Maybe ricpic could poesy around with this notion
Keep your wood dry, Sixty Grit!
The Band of Heathens rotates around on my Pandora channel. Talented bunch.
Felt sure you were going to got here.
*ducks*
Sixty safely ducked
Drenching precipitation
Flo lost her mojo.
@deb: thought about that, but left it for you.
Even though he is Canadian Neil Young makes me want to learn German, specifically, Backpfeifengesicht.
lol Sixty. I love the German language, but I couldn't handle learning it this late in the game. Never mind the three-inch words, the glottal stuff would exhaust me.
Chick, there can never be too many haiku. For your sake and mine, don't ever hesitate when the spirit strikes :)
Stay safe buddy.
In Durham, waiting to go back to Southport. Lotta roads and power out.
I have a hard time remembering English words. Forgetaboutit learning another language.
Durham struggles to keep the power on even during the best of times.
My friends just drove back to their home on the Neuse, roads were open, power is spotty in that area but the drive was smooth sailing.
We should have had a Lem's Meetup over in Durm. I bet the old Durham Bull's ballpark is not being used right this minute.
Allen, it sounds like you could speak Brooklyn-ese with Trooper :)
