In an election season that has been full of surprises, let’s hope the electorate understands that there is at least one thing of which it can be certain: A Hillary Clintonpresidency will be built, from the ground up, on self-dealing, crony favors, and an utter disregard for the law.
This isn’t a guess. It is spelled out, in black and white, in the latest bombshell revelation from WikiLeaks. It comes in the form of a memo written in 2011 by longtime Clinton errand boy Doug Band, who for years worked simultaneously at the Clinton Foundation and at the head of his lucrative consulting business, Teneo.

A more likely explanation is that Team Clinton has been employing the opposite of "utter disregard for the law." That they've been able to do what they've been doing, legally, is the problem, for people who value forebearance consistent with day-to-day norms of decency. If murder were legal, a lot of people would, nevertheless, refrain from committing murder. But too many would not so refrain.
Maybe there's some evidence out there that Donald Trump hasn't been getting away with as much as he can within the limits of his risk preferences. Perhaps the important difference is that a businessman needs some reserve of good will to reduce transaction costs more than a high government official, who may well be able to coopt the coercive power of the state.
I really don't know.
They believe charity begins at home.
Their home.
The irritating thing about this election is that whoever wins, their undesirable qualities will be touted as desirable or at least acceptable to the public, but I don't think that's true. We simply have little choice but to hire a deeply flawed person. The primary voters created this mess, especially on the Republican side, because the Dems had little choice. I don't like that Trump's coarse and dull qualities would be thought acceptable, but infinitely worse is the idea that corruption, lying and outright illegality will be elected and somehow become the new American standard. If that doesn't depress you, then you see America the same way Obama does - just another nation. Hillary's election will be the low point in this American life.
