"Oregon State to force ‘social justice’ training on freshmen"

The College FixThe new program “is intended to provide all students entering Oregon State University an orientation to concepts of diversity, inclusion, and social justice and help empower all OSU students to contribute to an inclusive university community,” campus documents state.
“Social justice” is largely a progressive phrase mainly used to tout left-leaning agendas such as environmentalism, socialism, feminism and gay rights. Oregon State would not be the first public university to mandate such a curriculum. At UMass Amherst, students are required to take two “social justice” classes to earn diploma, for example.

Oregon State is no stranger to social justice training. Last year, the public university spent $11,500 on three racially segregated social justice retreats for students that examined topics such as white privilege, racism and oppression, according to financial records obtained by The College Fix through a public records act request.
Please watch the following video, the relevance of which will not become apparent until about 3 minutes in.

Here (Link to a tweet) is an example of someone whose eyes and ears do not seem open. She's a correspondent for the New York Times and CNN analyst. I came to read the tweet via Instapundit.

I had to read it a few times before I could fully grasp it's colossal significance. See if you can pick up on it, and... blurt it out in the comments.

Clearly, all those right-thinking people in the Pacific Northwest, after being good little Lefties for more than 50 years, still can't raise children truly Leftist enough.

Such a pity.

That damned native intelligence, one presumes.

There is a gem of colossal willful ignorance hidden in the tweet I linked to.

The video and the 'forced' school curriculum explains it.

I put 'forced' in quotes because, students are not forced to go to schools selling this type of thing.

Or do I have that wrong?

Wrong time of the day to put up a dense post.

I watching a Scott Adams periscope were he is exposing more of his house to his followers. Playing with his dog and showing what's inside his fridge, his tomatoe garden.

Not at all.
It's just not that surprising.

But I'm going to cut it short.

The Red Sox are about to start a one game series, a make up game, against the Indians.

Ok. I'll blurt it out.

The NYT CNN contributor seems to ignore the jihadists ideology.

Like I said I had to read that a few times to grasp what she implies.

I could understand her comment a few days after 9/11, when the shock of what was happening had still not worn off?

But not after more than a decade of airport padding and all the other things that have followed.

The only sensible explanation as to what has happened to this NYTimes CNN contributor is on that video. And there are God how many more just like her in high position, in positions of influence.

Padding? Tomatoe? Scott Adams, Hillary voter?

The prosecution rests.

WTF w/ Scott Adams..Scott Adams..Scott Adams? Bring me up to speed. I know in our culture one is either a super hero or super villain. Is he a villain? Why? From Google I see he writes Dilbert[I don't read comics]. Thanks.

He is an avowed Hillary supporter - try to keep up. Those who cite him for anything are being used.

Or, perhaps, he is a double secret Trump supporter who is just trying not to be killed should he admit his beliefs. In either case, he is a useful idiot.

I tried to link these three bits of seemingly disparate bits of information and I've failed tremendously, just as the guy in the video said I would.

Amazing.

Thanks. But I assume all cartoonists would be Hillary supporters. I can now go back to ignoring all references to him. The only cartoon I ever read was Gil Thorp. That was when I was in JR. HS. That cartoonist could have been a Republican.

The post had nothing to do with Scott Adams.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I mentioned in the comments that Scott Adams was doing a broadcast... nothing to do with the post.

Sorry I'm confusing most of the time.

The top of the post is about a suspect college curriculum.

The video is about a former soviet KGB saying (back in the 80s) how education is part of the destabilization of a country like the US.

The last ingredient of the post soup is a link to a tweet of a NYT CNN contributor that shows willful disregard for the obvious, being that the jihadist have an ideology. Let me repeat that (I had to read it a couple of time to get it) The Jihadists have an ideology.

Watching the video and comprehending what the former KGB agent said is the key to fully comprehending what the post is attempting to convey. Which, btw, the former KGB agent said would fail. Attempts to show people what we are doing to ourselves would fail.

sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

The video explains both, the education curriculum and the NYT CNN contributor tweet.
