Watching Rubio accuse of Trump of doing to the American people what he did to his students at Trump University is desperate and spitting and yipping snarling Chihuahua pathetic. I want to punch him myself. And this show has nothing to do with me. It's like standing on tiptoes to peek through their window to watch the neighbors fighting. Ew. And coming from Rubio who did this precise thing. The border patrol representative has very damaging interviews about how Rubio treated him while working on the betrayal agreement with the gang of 8. Newly elected and pulling that shit. Betrayal immediately upon taking high office and here is haranguing on this very point.
Education is expensive.
Every single type is expensive.
The single difference here is students fucked and taken by State colleges cannot sue the way Trump's students can and did sue.
That is their education, that they're not cut out to make use of this type of education. That is right there an incredibly valuable education.
Thirdly, Rubio and Fox are insisting on discussing and dragging out details about an ongoing suit. As lawyers they know the case cannot be discussed publicly without damaging their case.
Fourth, Rubio is impossible to watch because as Democrats do and as progressives do he and FOX make their own case completely and interrupt the defense sentence for sentence like screaming starving grabbing noisy interrupting jabbing obnoxious desperate Gibraltar monkeys.
And that's not as fun as I thought it would be.
GOP, die already. Jesus Christ what an agonizing moribundity.
Watching via Twitter- sounds like another mud wrestling waste of time. I place much blame on the moderators Kelly Baeir and Wallace but Trump always take their bait.

I actually gained a lot of respect for Kasich tonight. And Trump lost me when he reversed on H-1B visas -- he must have been pow-wowing with Mark Zuckerberg or something. As for the other two stooges? Forget about them.
Kasich is the last Governor standing. He seems dull, competent and knowledgeable about the issues. Plus he throws in some bomfog platitudes to show that underneath it all, he's got a heart. I suppose you could say the same thing about Jimmy Carter, but he looks like a safe choice.......The safest choice isn't always the best choice. I can't see him winning any votes from Hillary or generating much excitement. Still, his lack of charisma is reassuring.
Surprising, there are a lot of scary smart people in politics. There was a guy from Denver, became a mayor, pushed for the airport, became Sec. of Transportation. Latino dude. Some really bizarre name like Martinez. Starts with a P. I forget. Penya Peña. Something like that. Scary smart. Know what made him so smart? Knew everybody's name.
Joke. Okay? That whole thing was a joke to leaven you up. But it happens to be true. Peña could recall anyone's name and their bio. But! The example given is from the wife of a man who wrote Peña a check. From the check Peña had the wife's name and recalled it later on the spot when needed leading the wife to believe him Kreskin the Magnificient or else very good memory *whispers* when it comes to checks. It is a remarkable skill.
As Rubio rattled Trump, Cruz: "Let me ask the voters at home, is this the debate you want playing out in the general election?"
“You know, Donald has a tenuous relationship with the truth.”
When Trump tried to interrupt,"Count to 10, Donald. Count to 10.”
Again: “Breathe, breathe, breathe.”
When Trump quoted a CNN poll, Cruz came back: “Well, that's a very good poll to look to, because that CNN poll showed that head to head Donald Trump loses to Hillary Clinton by 8 points.”
When else do you see employers wildly cheering and applauding the job applicants' every word in an interview. It's freaking embarrassing. We deserve a buffoon for a President and a cartoon character for Vice-President. The Idiocracy has arrived.
If that's your issue, then hate them both, but it's not one of my big issues. so it does little to disqualify Cruz for me.
But of course, even if it is one of your big issues, it doesn't matter if Trump is on the wrong side of it, you just decide that Trump love must go on, until all your base are belong to us.
No. Didn't watch. There is nothing new to learn by watching these farcical events.
We watched Netfix: an old Poiroit and a fun show about a British detective who is reluctantly working in a tropical island. Highly recommend you watch. Death in Paradise and a Boardwalk Empire episode. Almost done with that series.
Trump love?
This is what every guy that supports Cruz says is what's wrong with the Trump people, but here you're making excuses. I point up a pretty important problem for a lot of people, but nothing must destroy the worship of the One True Ted.
I just love it.
And we'll see whose base ends up belonging to whom.
Trump didn't reverse his position. See his latest Tweet. Trump is really going to have to prepare better if goes after Hillary in a debate. He's too digressive.
I did learn something new last night. Cruz is proposing a 16% tariff on all imported goods. He disguises it as a part of his "business flat tax" but it looks like an across the board tariff to me.
I'm in favor of that or something like it and I assume the disguise is to keep the "free traders" off his back. I would prefer he take off the mask and just say he favors a limited protectionism.
Lem, the picture you chose is perfect. Stubby fingers that has commenters obsessed.
This photo has everything. Stubby fingers, orange skin, biz-ray hair. It's perfect to Photoshop. That sign he keeps making means "d" to everyone who reads fingers. He does that "now here's the fundamental thing" hand signal and we together all immediately see and think "d."
If only the stubby-fingered hand would hold fixed and continue and finish fingerspelling a word. It would be interesting to have a word appear by way of stubby fingered hand, an important meaningful word beginning with "d." But no. Just "d." And that's all.
I'd elongate the fingers and thumb. Double the frame to ask, "Satisfied now?"
I'd change the skin tone from orange to tan. Double the frame to ask, "Satisfied now?"
I'd take the long-fingered tan-skin frame and buzz the hair to bald. Double the frame to ask, "Satisfied now?"
I'd take the long-fingered tan-skin bald headed frame and add a short-cropped goatee. Double the frame and ask, "Satisfied now? "
Double the frame for blank response.
Double the frame to say, "Well there's just no satisfying you."
Kasich looked good in the debate because he could stand above the fray and just give his sales pitch. Fox and the other candidates were more interested in attacking Donald. Fox gave him softball questions.
"This is what every guy that supports Cruz says is what's wrong with the Trump people,..."
You don't have to prefer Cruz to see it. Everyone who doesn't support Trump sees the complete submission of all things to his winning. That's why no Trumper can say what Trump could do that would make them leave Trump, because there isn't anything, and they know he might do it sooner or later.
There are plenty of issues where Cruz would lose me if he went the wrong way. He'd lose me if:
he said he wanted to save Obamacare, thought Hillary was a great SOS, said he would make the military follow illegal orders, expand government, open the border, expand welfare or food stamps, give the EPA or the IRS more power, pardon Hillary, say Putin is a good leader, didn't support Israel, and on and on and on.
It's almost endless the things my guy can do wrong where I would say so, and seriously consider supporting someone else instead.
Go ahead - tell us what Trump could do that would turn you around.
I'm still waffling between Cruz and Trump. My biggest problem with Cruz continues to be the electability issue. Yes, I'm aware of the polls but I have to say that the more I see and hear Cruz the less I like him on a personal level, and I am beginning to understand the reasons beyond policy that so many in the Senate detest the man.
A little self-righteousness goes a long way. He could correct this if he would talk to us more and lecture us less. So far he hasn't done that. This will hurt him in the general election as more people are exposed to him for longer times. You could argue that a Presidential election is not a popularity contest, but you would be mostly wrong.
I didn't watch the debate last night. We have already had ten of them. How many more do we need?
Plus they had American Idol on live.
I did catch the replays and recaps after the debate. Is it true that Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace used videos and charts and graphs to trip up Trump but did not do that to any of the other candidates? Is it true that they presented a case as though it was a prosecution while giving the other candidates a free ride?
FOX has really damaged it's brand with a lot of people. Just as the Republican party has in this election. This talk of abandoning the guy who won fair and square or ignoring the election results to give the nomination to someone else. Maybe someone who didn't even run in the primaries.
I think it is very interesting that Jim Webb has indicated that he would vote for Trump. What if the Republicans deny Trump the nomination in an underhanded way and Trump goes independent with a Trump/Webb fusion ticket? Do you think they can get some of the Scott/Irish working class votes in the Rust Belt. Would that be enough in a three way race. Could Trump cobble together a coalition of people who would reject the corruption of both Hillary and the Republican elites? I wonder.
The millennials would not be out of reach. They hate Hillary. Trump could reach out to them. To their economic insecurity. They would like to give the finger to the establishment. They would look at it as a joke.
A guy like Webb could pound Hillary and work the working class angle in a way that would resonate with many people. He is a vet and can speak to their issues. He was a Democrat who could give cover to those who can't stomach Hillary.
I wish he'd stuck with deporting the Moslems Hillary and Pissy have imported.
I want to see what exact changes he's making in his H1-B stand. (happy?)
But he is not the Messiah the way Cruz is to his acolytes.
And I don't have to like everything some guy stands for to support him. I was a Rudy guy in '08 because he was where I stood on the important stuff. I knew he was a little weird on the social stuff, but that wasn't as important as the War.
You and some of the other people here have named Cruz the only Conservative (who made anybody the arbiters of who is and who isn't and when it happened, I must have missed) and worship some standard of ideological purity.
When he loses, I hope that gives you comfort, although, if Cruz still has a future in the Senate, I think you're going to find a lot of what you accuse Trump of doing, he's done, too.
PS If Trump thinks he's got the nomination, he'll tack to the center, which I think this is the start.
If Cruz gets the nod, he'll do it, too. If he doesn't, he'll go down in history.
Of course that presupposes that the Republican party forces Trump to do that. Trump might be the only candidate eligible to be nominated. He would have the requite number of states and enough delegates. But say he falls just short. By 5 or 10 delegates. And the establishment and the conservative intelligentsia use that as a pretext to deny him the nomination to give it to Romney which now seems to be the plan.
Trump would be fully justified in doing whatever he had to do. Including an independent run. He signed the pledge. The other candidates agreed to support who ever won the nomination. If they go back on that they deserve what will happen next.
Is it true that they presented a case as though it was a prosecution while giving the other candidates a free ride?
Yes. This is Megyn Kelly's contribution to the televised political arena. She is in effect a deposition attorney. People love it and eat it up because she is so "beautiful." It's the oldest trick in the book for swaying juries. Trump is effective in countering it because he probably has been deposed umpteen times. Rubio would whither under such scrutiny. Cruz might be effective because he's probably better at it than Kelly is, but, he doesn't have the looks.
I think you hit it. Somebody else here found Cruz and his holiness "off-putting" a few weeks ago.
This was the likability issue that was raised and then covered over before the primaries began.
The fact Sessions endorsed Trump and nobody of the 20 or so Conservatives in the Senate says something about him. I dislike the whole, "He's a guy I could have a beer with", business, but, at some level, you do have to trust the guy.
Some don't trust Trump (as I've said, I have my reservations), but he strikes me as a guy who doesn't like to lose and a fighter. And what I've heard out of him in interviews over many years makes me think he is more Conservative and more patriotic than some say.
Cruz strikes me as a Righty Obarry. We do not need that. Especially somebody who would have no allies on the hill (Trump may not have allies, either, but I have a feeling he, like Reagan, understands legislative politics is the art of the possible).

No fan of Webb, as I have said, but he does give you a view on the Southern and veteran constituencies.
As for the coalition, if the Cruzzers think they alone can elect him, they're dreaming. If they think he can draw enough people by remaining the One True Ted, I want what they're smoking.
Trump is a moderate New York Republican in the Pataki, Giuliani style. He has some conservative positions that I fully support. He bitterly disappoints me in several of his policies. But that is ok. I don't have to agree with every single one of his stands.
You see you don't get it bags. I don't see Trump as a Messiah. I see him as a flawed vessel. But I also see him as a common sense problem solver. You know everyone makes a big deal out of his many, many failures. Well you have to fail to learn how to come back from it. You have to be knocked down and be able to pick yourself up and get back in the game. That's not something someone like Obama has ever done. He was cushioned by affirmative action and racial preference and the coddling of the Press. The racism of lowered expectations. Just like these kids today. They never go out and get the snot knocked out of them by a bully. Yeah that sucks. But you learn from it. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Now you can say that Trump is a bully. Yeah I can see that. He does like to bully. But I have seen him have compassion. Strangely enough on the Celebrity Apprentice which so many of the pundits mock. He helped out people who were drug addled losers like Darryl Strawberry and Gary Busey. Millions of regular Americans have seen that too. They don't think he is Hitler or Stalin or a secret fan of the KKK. Megyn Kelly can't sell that no matter how hard she tries. People who have seen Trump on TV in their living rooms know better. All the bullshit graphs and attack videos in the world won't make a dent in that.
And the establishment and the conservative intelligentsia use that as a pretext to deny him the nomination to give it to Romney which now seems to be the plan.
Romney doesn't stand a chance because he's been too passive/aggressive in this cycle. If he really wanted another shot, he have been there all along. But he deferred, I think, to JEB.
A little self-righteousness goes a long way. He could correct this if he would talk to us more and lecture us less. So far he hasn't done that
My feelings exactly Rabel.
There is no denying that Cruz is very smart and a skilled debater. He has a lot of good points and positions. However, his tone comes off as preachy, lecturing and smugly self satisfied. The pausing after a pronouncement, nodding and in general just preaching is off putting. The body language is not friendly or natural.
He would do better to just talk and loosen up a bit and stop being so farking scripted. This is part of the Trump speeches that resonate with people. You get the sense that he is speaking in a more free form manner. Yes. Trump has his prepared sound bytes just like everyone else, however it is mixed up with non sequiturs and the ability to change his speaking direction with the changing circumstances that occur in his stump speeches. Digressions and out of nowhere anecdotes that eventually do come back to the point. THIS is how normal people speak and it feels natural.
The professorial, lecturing, Baptist preacher tone that Cruz has makes me like him less the more I hear him.
Is it true that Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace used videos and charts and graphs to trip up Trump but did not do that to any of the other candidates?
I couldn't say since I didn't watch it.
The main reason I didn't watch is that I absolutely cannot stand to watch either Kelly or Wallace. They are both so full of themselves that it is sickening.
Their position in the debate is to MODERATE, not to attack and debate directly with the candidates. They just can't seem to help themselves and they both come off as nauseatingly self absorbed, petty and totally unprofessional. Smirks, grins like junior high kids who scored some points and snarky questions.
I hate the both of them and will not watch either their shows or anything that they are on.
The truest thing Trump ever said is: - "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters"
If that's just hyperbole, then where IS the disqualifying issue?
Ed, are you really saying that you would dump Trump over an H-1B stance? From what I've seen of Trump supporters, I bet you'd find a way to make it OK.
I don't know how a Trump supporter can say such a thing with a straight face
Trump, just like every politician, is supposed to be full of himself. They wouldn't run for office if they weren't all borderline (at the least) narcissists and full of puffed up ego. That is par for the course. Carson seems to have been the exception to this rule.
However, the supposed journalists, and especially those chosen to be moderators in a debate, are to be neutral. Pose questions, keep the debate on track. Attack journalists are opinion mongers (Hannity, Matthews, O'Reilly) and pretty much of the same narcissistic bent as politicians. It is to be expected from those types of talking heads.
Kelly and Wallace can't even pretend to be journalists or to be unbiased. There is a time and a place for attack journalism. Being the moderator of a national debate is not the place. If they can't even pretend to be neutral, then I won't pretend to not hate them for their hypocrisy.
What Trump said about his supporters is true as it is true of the supporters of many candidates including Obama. Hillary, Ron Paul and even the One True Ted.
Trump supporters are just sick and tired of the same old same old. People like Dole and Bush and McCain and Romney. Is Trump perfect? Of course not. Does he have a lot of flaws and policies and opinions we don't approve of? Of course. Could he do something that would make us drop him as a candidate? Sure if he made Jeb his VP. Or divorced Melania to marry Rosie O'Donnell. But neither of those things are going to happen.
What is much more likely is that he is going to win the nomination fair and square and the establishment and th neocons and the conservative punditocracy will conspire to take it from him at the convention. They have as much as said that in so many words. That is their plan. To ignore the will of the people as expressed in the voting booth.
Once you do that all bets are off. Things will get real ugly real fast.
Trump is expanding the base of the party. He is bringing in new people. What's the problem? Oh. They are not the right kind of people. Not our type don't you know. So lets throw him out because he is a low class vulgarian reality TV show star. We are better than that.
How many Trump supporters have you seen?
From what I've seen of Cruz supporters, they think more like what they think Trump supporters think.
And Trump was making a joke at the time. This is what I see in the Cruzzers. Any way they can misrepresent the man, they will. Doesn't inspire confidence.
H1-B is a big issue for a lot of people - including Cruz, if you listen to him. That you try to minimize it says a lot about how much you are willing to rationalize, etc., anything your boy says that gets in the way of the illusion.
Would I dump my support over H1-B alone? No, I'm not a single issue guy - I thought Santorum was a jerk and a whiner even though I agreed with some of what he said about the sanctity of life. I'd like to hear what, exactly, Trump's new position is and why (people do change their minds when exposed to new data - I've done it myself on occasion.), but, if Trump wants to lose his coalition, there's a point of no return.
Cruz OTOH can flip and flop all he wants and his people don't want to hear about it. I've mentioned some of the egregious examples, but that doesn't seem to make a dent.
"What Trump said about his supporters is true as it is true of the supporters of many candidates including Obama. Hillary, Ron Paul and even the One True Ted."
It's not true of me and many others Americans, as I listed above there are lots of reasons to change your mind about a candidate if you aren't fanatical. But, you love the fact that Trump support is so fanatical. You consider it a feature - I consider it a bug, as I did with Obama support, and with Hillary now, and I would not appreciate it in people who even supported my preferred candidate. I would consider fanatical unquestioning support to be a negative even if it helped my guy. It's not a wise way to choose who to give power to in a democracy, especially one founded on the idea of the supremacy of the people and a rejection of royalty.
But that's all just elitist clap trap from a establishment prince of the duopoly, so don't let it get in your way.
Bags, bags, bags. How many times do we have to say it. We see the flaws in Trump. There are plenty of them. There are a hell of a lot more in Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton. You keep telling me that I have to worry about this stand or that stand and suddenly denounce Trump and vote for Frankenweenie who can't get a single guy who works with him to stand by his side. Even Jeff Sessions who is Ted Cruz's soulmate on a bunch of issues trusts Trump more to act on the important things. Why do you think that is? Did you ever stop to consider that Senator Sessions knows something that you don't?
You can keep selling Cruz but not many people are buying. There are a few. I mean they did sell a couple of thousand Edsels after all. But most are not.
No matter how hard you beat this dead horse he ain't gonna get up and win the race.
What bags doesn't get is that the Big Guy is just the front man. Ivanka is going to run everything. She is a little distracted because she is popping out a kid. But once she is back she will handle this. Trust me. It is under control.
"Bags, bags, bags. How many times do we have to say it. We see the flaws in Trump."
Of course. It's pretty hard not to. The point is you don't care about them, and I have yet to see if there is any limit to that. That's my whole point which you don't get. Trump isn't the real problem. He's what happens when you stop having standards. When winning becomes everything, and you imagine political solutions to all your problems. That didn't start with Trumpmania - it's just the current version. And they are always reactions to the previous version by the enemy, until someone gets an eye poked out, or loses everything they valued, when they stopped valuing it - all for the cause, and the thrill of victory.
Limits schmlits. Look this is an election. With candidates. You have to pick the one that best represents your interests. With all of his flaws and limits.
Cruz is not that guy for me. Certainly not the Rent Boy. Trump is as he is for many people. That drives so many people crazy. Fair enough.
bagoh20 wrote: I knew it! It is the hair. I have to admit it is a pretty amazing construction, a work of art really.
Trump's hair defies entropy every bit as much as Hillary's does. But we mustn't talk bout Hillary's hair. And than goodness that Ted's and Marco's hair is perfectly coiffed and jet black like Reagan's was! Only Romney has the gravitas to show a little temple grey.

GO TRUMP!!!!!

Megyn kelly's eyelashes could cover both El Niño & La Niña.
Frump Tan: go big Orange!
Marco's only response is Trump university!!!
The guy from Ohio is so boring I forgot his name..
Kelly reads the producer's questions very well

For someone from Ohio he sure does like to talk with his hands. Must be from being the son of a mailman.

Oh, we've jumped the shark a long time ago. Unfortunately, you can't take it back, and we will be judged by this silly season forever.

"But it's OK when the One True Ted does it."

Trump love?
This is what every guy that supports Cruz says is what's wrong with the Trump people, but here you're making excuses. I point up a pretty important problem for a lot of people, but nothing must destroy the worship of the One True Ted.
I just love it.
And we'll see whose base ends up belonging to whom.
Unless all you are going to vote for Hillary
PS I'm not happy with the new stand, but at least this is the only waffle on the subject for Trump.
Cruz has had so many positions, you can't count them. And that includes Gang of 8.
"There is nothing new to learn by watching these farcical events."
Exactly. I'm skipping the next one. Maybe if it gets down to Cruz/trump i'd watch.
Man that was funny. No point in doing it now.
He'd lose me if:
he said he wanted to save Obamacare,
thought Hillary was a great SOS,
said he would make the military follow illegal orders,
expand government,
open the border,
expand welfare or food stamps,
give the EPA or the IRS more power,
pardon Hillary,
say Putin is a good leader,
didn't support Israel,
and on and on and on.
It's almost endless the things my guy can do wrong where I would say so, and seriously consider supporting someone else instead.
Go ahead - tell us what Trump could do that would turn you around.
Staying out of the fray is good for Kasich. It makes him seem presidential and gives him more time to chew over his responses.
They really are getting desperate.
It would be very interesting.
bag, you do what you accuse me of doing.
I like a lot of what Trump says.
As Barry Goldwater II.
Or can you live with President Hillary?

" They are both so full of themselves that it is sickening."
I don't know how a Trump supporter can say such a thing with a straight face. I guess the objection is highly subjective.
I try not to stoop to this kind of thing much, but with Trump, you don't have to have standards, and you got to admit that it's a little spooky.
Reincarnation ?
The truest thing Trump ever said is: - "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters"
Except, he didn't say that.
He said that someone else made that claim about him. Not that he denied it, however :-) But accuracy is accuracy and important.
Let's go Mitt!

So be it.
Cruz OTOH can flip and flop all he wants and his people don't want to hear about it. I've mentioned some of the egregious examples, but that doesn't seem to make a dent.

All you did was prove my point. Talk about Omnibus Spending some time.
What bags doesn't get is that the Big Guy is just the front man. Ivanka is going to run everything. She is a little distracted because she is popping out a kid. But once she is back she will handle this. Trust me. It is under control.
Hey, Troop, you wouldn't be EBL in a parallel universe?
I knew it!
