Mark Steyn attends Trump rally in Vermont

That is Bernie Sanders territory, of course. Trump rented a theater distributed far more tickets than the place can accommodate to friends and foe alike to stir up trouble in the street.

Mark's apolitical daughter and her friends went and reported what they encountered. After hearing their report Mark's sons wanted to see too, not that enthusiastic about the idea himself, they went.

Mark Steyn approves and writes a fun and freewheeling summation to capture the essence of the event.

[Trump] doesn't need writers, and scripted lines; he has a natural instinct for where the comedy lies. He has a zest for the comedy of life.

If nothing else it would be refreshing to have a president who talks to us instead of reading to us.

Whatever The Donald is doing, it works.

First time I've ever liked what I read about Trump. Now I'm a tad more sanguine about him. The line about never riding in a Rolls Royce again works because the great mass of Americans dream to work hard, have success and score our own luxuries. Somehow we believe Trump would cheer us on.

Trump could run on taking the teleprompter lecture and dumping it in the dust bin.
