Portland is one of those Lefty paradises that always ends up as one of the places you're supposed to want to live.

Then again, Madison when it takes it's crazy pills is right up there. Fortunately the winters are too harsh to support a homeless population like the West Coast.
Before he opens his mouth that guy looks to be a Jimmy Stewart type. And then he opens his mouth. What makes a person become that...thing...is beyond me.
I first visited Portland in '84, then between '88 and 2000 I went there dozens of times. Powell's book store was awesome, the Portlandia statue on Michael Graves' city hall building is worth a visit, but the rest of the place is a dangerous shithole full of leftwing loonies. That's a shame, but there you have it.
Wow. And he has no clue that he's engaging in the verbal equivalent of what he is accusing the cops of physically doing. Self-righteousness totally gone awry, and for what gain? What is his motive? What makes this worth doing? And how does one switch off and go home and relate with other humans? What matters to him?
When I watch that type of behavior, I see it as canned but not totally so, as it is not completely rote. It involves the wherewithal to make choices, and enough self awareness to run off to protect himself, so he's not totally mental or incapable of appropriate response.
It looks to me like a human with a corrupted program. I don't have a word for it, and dislike labeling the energy and focus as "evil" or evil driven but it appears to me as though the darkness of distortion, lies and self-protection prevents him for engaging in anything close to real relationship with others.
