Caravanserai: That Santana song and album was way, way ahead of its time. It had everything now going for it then: a caravan on the march across a parched land; latino rhythm & beat; even ISIS camels trudging northwards if you're facing west.
This guy. Van. I went to one of his concerts once in San Francisco (Masonic Center auditorium). Great venue and he was really good. So here's a little San Francisco vignette for you: As intermission drew to a close (or maybe it was on the way in), they blinked the lights to let people know the concert was (re-) starting and to get to their seats. Some little ultra-earnest San Francisco manlette started pell-melling toward the entry doors, announcing to the surrounding assembled that Van hates it when people come in late! Hurry!! He'll call you out from the stage!!! I was all wut now?, you cannot be serious, i'd kind of like to see that but the whole crowd started surging in FEAR of being CALLED OUT from the STAGE by VAN effing MORRISON. Pussies.
