RIP Frank Robinson

One of the great rivals to the New York Yankees the great Frank Robinson has passed away.

He never got the acclaim of his contemporaries like Roberto Clemente or Hank Aaron. He was one of the  fiercest opponents of the Yankees in the 1960"s and 1970"s. I was always worried when he came up to bat for the Orioles. Along with his brother from another mother Brooks he was a torn in our side.

Also the first black manager he was a no nonsense kind of guy. I think he would have bitch slapped anyone who did not respect the National Anthem.

A great player. Rest in peace my friend

Old school. Respected by all teammates. I doubt they have them anymore but Frank was the judge and jury for the Orioles kangaroo court. Not hustling, miss a sign, miss a cutoff, you were fined by Frank.

Bill Russell and Frank were basketball high school teammates and lifetime friends. Frank had front row Laker tix the last decade. Never sought the limelight like the Hollywood crowd. Just wanted good seats.
