KLEM TV

Many of us here despise the media but who exactly is "the media"?

Speaking just of TV, is it Ted Baxter, Murray Slaughter, Lou Grant, or Mary Tyler Moore?  Is it whoever owned the station they worked for? Each of them played interconnected roles.

Is Newt Wrong?

That guy at the Trump rally giving the media corralled at the pen the finger was a hoot.

I saw a tweet of it last night. I didn't realize it was going to go viral.

Newt loves to lecture. That is a big reason why he is not the VP candidate.

Allahpundit has been Anti-Trump from the get go. Even more so then April if that is possible.

The media is overreaching and it shows. Most people are not paying attention. They will focus on the debates. What they don't get if everything Trump says is an outrage then nothing is an outrage. It is like racism. When you lie and lie and call everything racism after a while regular people tune you out. Not the SJW and the ultra liberals. Not the media. But regular people see Trump as speaking like a regular guy. Not a politician. It is a feature not a bug.

The question is are there enough regular normal Americans of all races and religions and ethnicities who are more concerned about being Americans instead of some other identity. The special interests of both left and right are all for Hillary. The big money of both left and right are for Hillary. The protected classes are all in for Hillary. The media, academia and the pundits are all in for Hillary.

Donald Trump can only count on himself, his family and the America people. We have to see if it is enough.

There seems to be a problem sorting the wit from the chafe, in my opinion.

How was Trump's latest "gaffe" another "all about Trump" moment?

I hear Newt saying "cut us in the deal, Donald. We want to play too, but you won't let us."

Plus isn't AllahPundit a famous #NeverTrumper?

I finally figured it out--somewhere on the road between Texas and California -- what it is about #NeverTrump that chafed/chafes me. It's the simple folk wisdom of "never say never." Those people should have been #NotTrump in the primary. You cannot walk back an extreme word like "never" and then ever expect to be taken seriously as a person who deals in words. #NeverTrump was a rallying cry in extremum. A foolish, emotional outburst which now publicly boxes a number of well-meaning people into voting either for Hillary or for a third party, or, in secret only, for Trump.

Or maybe #NeverTrump was just sarcasm all along?

I have to echo Trooper here in that Trump has drawn support from a segment of the population which contains both R's and D's. It seems to me--bluntly speaking-- that the anti-Trump R's really just don't give a shit about a whole swath of the electorate. Maybe they are embarrassed by them; maybe, like the "great writer" Kevin D. Williamson, they just want to see them die off.

Allahpundit is like other voices in the media who make their money as outrageous conservative iconoclasts. Guys like Greg Gutfield and the Ace of Spades and even Glenn Beck for that matter. They are supported to be the bad boys. The ones that say the outrageous things that are not Politically correct.

Trump blows them out of the water. He says the things they are afraid to say. That would lose their jobs. And he won the nomination is one of only two people who have a realistic chance of being elected President.

It drives them batshit crazy.

I despise the media because they are wrong on nearly every issue and the fact that they are RMPC's and flak for Democrats for nearly 100 years. If you really want to see how the media lies and in such an evil and pathological way, then look at international news and see how they report on the same news items and overlap them on how they are reported domestically and you will see instantly how just unrepentantly evil they are.

Very true. I would add one more factor. They are so afraid of being called racist that they are ashamed of being white.

See, I think the issue is Allah (and Morissey), like Driscoll, are not Conservatives, but Libertarian. The HotAir crowd couldn't wait for Romney to lose last time.

Now, if you hate Romney and you hate Trump, what other direction do you have?

I have yet to see a Libertarian (Insta excepted) who thought it more important to see a Republican, any Republican, win than any Demo. They will do anything to keep the Rs from winning because they want their base. Witness Erickson.

You really buy that?

chickelit said...

You really buy that?

Nope. But I believe in offering your enemy an out.

Well, this could be fun:

Guccifer 2 hacked the Demo computer system - All cell numbers of every Demo in Congress online.

Gucci, you magnificent bastard.

(had to...)

chickelit said...

Isn't the etymology of "Guccifer" Gucci + fer with "fer" being from the Latin ferre "carry" (see infer).

So, Guccifer = Gucci carrying? I suspect the Velvet Mafia. :)

"They are so afraid of being called racist that they are ashamed of being white."

Most of the media #Nevertrump types were never real conservatives to begin with. Allahpundit has always called himself a libertarian, Jonah Goldberg has been a proud libertarian/neo-con. The Kraut used to write speeches for Mondale, Kristol was another Neo-con - just like his Dad. Will was a Jackson Democrat before he became the WaPo's uncle tom conservative. Erickson and Beck are just opportunists and careerists. And Beck is crazy, so there's that.

Red State has to be the biggest example of the mask falling off. I don't believe that Red state Commissar Leon Wolf was EVER a real conservative. I don't know what those hell people are. They sure do love to attack conservatives and anyone who supports Trump. Why don't they just ask Hillary for a payoff? Or maybe, they already have.

Troop, Ace has been pro Trump for a while (because he is anti Hillary).

You can think they are anti Trump because he steals their schtick but you are wrong.

Some think Trump is going to lose. Others really believe he will sell out conservative principals. Most of the guys you mentioned are not #NeverTrump.

I am with Ace on this one, I think Trump will be a disappointment if he wins but will be way better than Hillary and he might pleasantly surprise me. I am virtually certain he will not be worse than Clinton.

But first he has to win.

edutcher said...

I remember when Reagan came in, the phrase, "riverboat gamble", was very popular.

Same thing. Ace is being a realist - Trump or the Beast, unlike a lot of the bloggers - but he's no enthusiast.

Our side is finally playing dirty. You may have less to worry about than you think.

I know you have a restraining order, but you and April should bet a $100 donation to Lem's on the outcome of the race. Win win.

Fascinating story behind that song.

Jammo - pronounced almost like "yahmo", at least in the version I linked. Lucky Luciano, right up until he wasn't.

Oh, Good Lord, Labor Day is just the opening gun. Let's see what the debates bring (if there are any).

Dad, know you mean well, but I haven't got a hundred to spare for anything.

If I send something to Trump, it's going to be the price of a couple of bumper stickers.
