OK, we've all heard the news that, opening week of the NFL season, they will sing "Lift Every Voice", otherwise called the Black National Anthem.
I'm linking https://www.metrolyrics.com/the-black-national-anthem-lyrics-james-weldon-johnson.html the lyrics so you can see them. Wiki says the melody is supposed be the The National Anthem, although I think it scans a little more like My Country 'Tis Of Thee.
As you will see, the lyrics aren't unpatriotic and were written by a black Republican protesting Jim Crow, especially the lynchings. As we all know, Jim Crow was a Democrat institution and the Solid South was a Democrat mainstay in Congress as well as the White House.
So what's the deal? Make the Republicans look good? Make the Demos look bad?
Just another way of hating on America? Or are they really that ignorant of the origins of the song? Will players be kneeling?
Be interesting to see what the white, Hispanic, or Polynesian players do.

I didn't know that was the black National Anthem.
What would happen to players who refuse to stand or turn their back on that so called Anthem?
Opposite of integration? Disintegration.
-the process of losing cohesion or strength.
-the process of coming to pieces.
I'm unclear, will this song be presented alongside the National Anthem of the United States as an equal, an addition, or a special event?
From the Wiki, the part about it being performed for Lincoln's Birthday, adds another twist:
"Lift Every Voice and Sing" was publicly performed first as a poem as part of a celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday by Johnson's brother John. In 1919, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) dubbed it "the Negro national anthem" for its power in voicing a cry for liberation and affirmation for African-American people.

The Lefties think blacks want that. Kinda doubt it.

No, a substitute for the first regular season week only.
They say. Goodell must want to destroy the league.
