Muller Leaks

"Special counsel is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice, officials say"
The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

After yesterday's events; Mueller ought to rethink the end game here.

Personally (but I suspect many others held this view); I was willing to let go Comey's precedent setting speech detailing Hillary's crime and letting her go. I think she should be in prison like so many that have been prosecuted for the same crime (Comey lied about the prosecutions? imagine how shocked we all are!). But reality was the election was a better method for solving this problem without using law enforcement to resolve the will of the electorate (of course the GOP could have pushed for a special prosecutor in 2013 or 2014). Trying Hillary and putting her in jail would have incited riots. We did not need to go down that road.

Mueller should be smart enough to realize this, pack up, and go home. Comey's hurt butt and Hillary's shattered dreams are not worth going down this road.

I'm thinking he is not that smart.

You want collusion and obstruction? The Senate Judiciary Committee should subpoena all communications between Mueller and Comey over the past two years.

How 'bout back to the Scooter Libby thing?

That was Comey's.

"I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go."

If Mueller can turn that into obstruction of justice it will be a bigger trick than turning lead into gold.

Mueller is going to see this one of two ways. Either he believes he is going to be fired by Trump or he's going to dig his heels in because his pride and friendship with Comey demands that he look into it at all costs. This is why I said it was a big fucking mistake for Sessions to recuse himself and look what it has accomplished. Nothing.

As with Willie who never learned to keep his hand out of the cookie jar and was saved not by his mythical political genius, but by a compliant media. Them days be gone.

Mueller, along with the rest of the Left, may be suffering an attack of hubris.

We know what follows.

I'm still not clear on why a special counsel was needed or why he was given such a broad mandate by Rothenstein.

Could some explain why Democrat presidents can commit fucking murder - and they get little or no blowback, and Republicans are Always getting independent/special counsel investigations for nothing burgers?

Interesting how the Republicans couldn't wait to investigate Trump, a Republican POTUS, while Pelosi would've gotten her tongue ripped out rather then investigate Obama.

Because the media is on the side of the Democrats and will scream, "Cover up", if one isn't appointed.

(if you missed Watergate, I can see how it would be confusing)

Remember, too, a lot of people with R after their name are Whigs and will do anything their friends across the aisle in the Democrat party want.
