The kids always scare me every election, but then they don't show up to vote. When else do we let kids make decisions for the rest of us. And get the hell off my lawn, you little bastards. You too Colonel Sanders.

Bernie pays his interns $12/hr.
My friend Slick Willie Clinton laughed like hell when I told him, and mumbled something about pizza as he slowly leaned back in the chair till he toppled right over.

Those kids are counting on a snow day tomorrow.

There's a slim chance Ted Cruz is going to win that thing.

I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't watching it with my own eyes.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Ted leads Trump by over 4,000 votes with 75% reporting.

Maybe second guessing his campaign by rally idea.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

"Trump is closer to losing to Rubio than he is to beating Cruz #IowaCaucus"

Retail politics. Ted visiTED all 99 Iowa counties

Cruz wins...

Here is to you Sarah Palin ;)

ABC News just projected Cruz winner in Iowa

Cruz 28%
Trump 24%
Rubio 23%

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

"50.1 Clinton, Sanders 49.3 still counting"

Hillary is not a closer. glengarry glenn ross

I saw a meme that said Why Lose The Gold Chasing After Glitter?

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

With almost 87% of the votes in, the margin between Hillary and Sanders is .58%.

Martin O'Malley's vote total -- exactly .58%

Sanders is within a Megyn Kelly eyelash of beating Hillary.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

"What does a Donald Trump concession speech even look like?"

deborah said...

Cheerful.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Wow, I'm getting a ton of twitter love for a couple of mediocre tweets.

I don't get twitter. It must be Cruz-win buzz talking.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

I know Deb... The big guy was gracious thanking Ted and all the candidates.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

All the Ted supporters are now coming out of the shadows.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

It's 11 o'clock Eastern. Do you know where the Clintons are?

edutcher said...

Cruz won by the MOE in a state that was supposed to be his.

Given how weird the polls were (they always are in IA), Trump did OK, the Whigs are coalescing around Rubio, and Carson and Rand seem to be the Anybody But Cruz vote.

Big winner is Bernie. I hope he has a lot of people watching his back.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Hillary leading Bernie by 0.08%

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Is that Tom Tancredo up there?

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Ted listed his endorsements... he could count them in one hand.

Chip Ahoy said...

Could be Tancredo. Maybe Bob Dylan.

bagoh20 said...

Trump conceded graciously and thus wisely. He'll likely win New Hampshire.

bagoh20 said...

In fact, being gracious tonight is the last thing Cruz wanted from him. Being a jerk would have been really dumb, but admit it, you didn't know how he would handle it, did you? Is that a good thing?

ndspinelli said...

Real people, like those pig farmers in Iowa, don't like it when arrogant, bully, buffoonish, powder puff, NYers say "Fuck You" and skip the last debate. The Lord hates cowards.

Rabel said...

Bill was wearing his Hillary logo pin upside down standing behind her at her speech. The arrow was pointing backwards. It's a sign.

He also looked half past dead. My arsenic theory is looking better.

ndspinelli said...

Maybe it's that "skinny twat's" fault.

These look like real kids. I sense these are the elder of the children that the parents dragged with them to their social activity, their political obsession.

Not the same as the actual children caucusing in Iowa. Those children are scary.

Actual children of the corn.

Paul Simon PJ media interviewed Bernie Sanders supporters, eager and avid and motivated by moveon.org. Anxious to have money out of politics. When Simon told them their place of inspiration is funded by three billionaires they were all flabber aghasted. Simon has a lot of good videos here. He likes to travel.

One interviewee in particular has the appearance of Comic Con attendee. His seriousness goes deep as his costume allows. The rest are not any better.

That is a bit funny were it not tragic and in need of being exploded because just a few hours before the British kids latched onto an earlier Triumph the Insult Dog interview of nerds lined up to see the premier of Attack of the Clones, and one of the guys that the puppet dog interviews in line looks exactly like a young version of Glenn Reynolds, and I mean exactly. And it's hilarious experiencing this weird time warp whiplash thing from young Reynolds nerd in line to a movie straight to contemporary Reynolds posting again about strength training. And healthy manly diet. And the virtue of squats.

There is hardly a difference between Iowa citizens, this is their life, dragging their kids off in the snow to Politic Con when compared with actual Comic Con types waiting in line for their social experience, costuming and seeing a fantasy film.

This is who is getting all this intense media attention. Otherwise people don't pay much attention to the opinions of Iowans for being Iowans excepting American Pickers.

What does Trump concession speech look like?

"Losers. Nobody pays attention to Iowans who aren't American Picker."

ndspinelli said...

The pin was pointing toward his crotch. It was a sign to all non lesbian women in the crowd Bubba needs a BJ. I think there were 3 or 4 hetero women in the auditorium.

Rabel said...

I'm thinking Bill ain't got much going in the libido area nowadays.

rcocean said...

Iowa has a bad track record of picking winners. Dole in 1988, Bush in 1980, Santorum in 2012, Huckabee in 2008.

They got Bush (2000) and Dole (1996) right. But in 2000, they gave runner ups Forbes 31% and McCain only got 5%. In 1996, Buchanan and Lamar Alexander got 41% of the vote.

If i was Trump I wouldn't worry.

rcocean said...

BTW, Iowa isn't as conservative as some people think. Its only gone Republican once in the last POTUS seven elections. They voted for Clinton and Obama twice, plus Gore in 2000 and 1988 for DukaKis.

Dad Bones said...

rcocean @ 12:39 & 12:44: Trump outdrew Cruz by hundreds of people when they campaigned in my county, and yet only beat him here by one point last night (292-291). I barely remember Rubio coming to town. Big caucus turnout.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

Trump's recent behavior got him nothing in Iowa. His immature name calling - his missing the Fox debate - didn't work.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

I welcome Trump's smack down of political correctness, but thru that, he should still manage to act like an adult.

bagoh20 said...

Trump was favored.
Cruz was attacked by everyone: the left, the other candidates, the Trumpers, and the establishment, especially over the last month
Cruz said NO to Ethanol IN IOWA!
Trump endorsed ethanol (a stupid, and obviously wrong subsidy useful for nothing but buying votes)

BUT, still Cruz won by 5 points

How? He worked very hard at it. Not just talk, but being in the fight, organizing, and meeting with voters, not just driving by and yelling "hey baby" out the window.

I predict that Cruz will continue to do what everybody on the right has been asking for for decades by offering up an unapologetic strong conservative message, and he'll lose the nomination for it. Election after election the right has said that if we just put up a real conservative instead of going for an "electable" moderate that it would be a landslide win. Now that one shows up, many want to vote for the only Democrat in the Republican field, a lifelong and proven liberal. What a bunch of bullshit.

bagoh20 said...

Rubio is also very conservative, and would easily win the general, but the Trump love is all about immigration, not that's he's against it (he's the one hiring them), but that he insulted immigrants and that is so awesome.

ricpic said...

How much you wanna bet we don't hear one word of Jesus talk from Ted in the run-up to New Hampshire? Those Granite State atheists will remember anyway. Chameleon Cruz can't fool shrewd Yankees. Big win for Trump in NH and then on to the South.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

Rubio wins against all the horrid D's in all the polls. The base hate him.

I say we suck it up and do what is best to drive a spike thru the corrupt Clinton heart of death, once and for all.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

Trump V Hillary - too risky. He's not disciplined and he also likes her and won't fight her. Just something to consider.

bagoh20 said...

I'm with you April. I hated the gang of eight thing and Rubio was an ass with it, but the times have changed. I think he knows that was a huge mistake. As President will he disappoint those who are stridently anti-illegal immigrant? Probably, but I also think Trump will, and not out of compassion, but greed. Immigration will be tightened up no matter which Republican is President, but that person must be a Republican. The best chance of that is Rubio, and he has a 94% rating on being conservative in his career in the Senate.

A wall will not stop illegals if we still hire them, because it won't be built in a way that's effective. The world is littered with ineffective walls. Illegals will only be stopped by legislation that takes away incentives for people like Trump to hire them. I assume I have illegals working for me, and everyone uses their labor indirectly, because right now you can't tell who is legal or not. Fake papers and identity can be secured in a few days by anyone. One easy thing would end this: a simple E-verify program with photo ID, BUT with the photos verified and available on line. That with a small team of people employed to constantly verify and check the identities for fraud through cross checking government databases would end hiring them. Take away welfare benefits with the same system and they will run back home. Everything will get more expensive as the labor pool dries up, and some companies will die, but if we are serious, we need to accept that.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

The world is littered with ineffective walls. Berlin, china...

Indeed, Bagoh. Are we really going to build the Great Wall of China on our southern border? I like the idea of a wall, but the reality of it is almost silly.

Make it illegal to hire illegals, with consequences. There is no denying the leftwing machine needs illegals for their grand plan at total domination and dictatorship through the giant government sugar daddy on the dole free-stuff for no work voter harvest expansion. How can we counter that? They lie and cheat, and we promise walls. How about something better?

the other problem is the American work ethic. It is trashed. 20-somethings have no work ethic.

but I stand corrected if you were mocking Hillary.

I'm A-Ok with you if you mock Hillary.

I'm looking for an election w/ 2 distinct choices, Cruz v Sanders. The last time we had an election like that was 1980.

Titus said...

New Hampshire is a state of a bunch of libertarian atheists.

Cruz will lose all the God talk in NH and will be lucky to take 4th-thank God

deborah said...

Since he won't win anyway, he'll prob keep the God talk going, but lighten up enough not to offend NH. Not to appease them, but out of courtesy.
