Mrs Thatcher Song

I remember a guy singing this song at an IRA fundraiser in 1983 in a pub I used to frequent.

Back in the day they would often have a "hard man" sitting at the end of the bar taking contributions for the Cause. It was the times of Bobby Sands and the hunger strike and most of my friends who were working as bartenders were from Belfast. They were without exception not political but they knew enough to throw a twenty in the bucket and shut up.

Actually ed they were the real deal. One of them went back to Ireland and ended up in Long Kesh.

I ran into his ex-girlfriend recently and she told me that he never recovered from the hunger strike.

The IRA were real terrorists and people like Peter King who is retiring this year enabled them. The money that NORAID raised went to guns and bombs not food for the children.

It's funny how it all turned out that with Brexit even the Prods in the North would rather stay in the EU by reuniting with Ireland instead of staying in the UK. Of course Ireland isn't Catholic anymore as they have allowed abortion and they have a gay mayor in Dublin. So it isn't a problem to have a United Ireland and all that suffering and death was for nothing.
