Food in 2010

Yes, Officer, I can tell what I was eating October 21, 2010.

Not the best photos, but eh.

I found these as thumbnails for 2010 and I had to download them all from Photobucktet with thousands of other supportive photographs then upload them all again into Blogger. That is, from one Google property to another.

Along the way I was able to improve most the old photographs by Photoshop-skill picked up along the way. But not these. These were too small and too insignificant to bother adjusting. Plus, I already did that for the main pages. I could have used the good ones but that would entail going back through each day and get them again. And these tiny ones unadjusted were all right there in the wastebasket.

It's kind of amazing how a simple slide of a control can decrease brightness and bring back details that are washed out. The information is still in there in the file but not displaying. Even in compressed .JPG format, a greatly reduced file, not raw which are even more vast, and not all the time, but most of the time. Enough to make fiddling around with them worth the trouble.

But that's a another whole step in another program for thousands of photographs.

Some of the photos are not actual meals. A jar of foam stands for a sourdough project. A machine top with grain stands for flour being milled for bread or corn for polenta, a meat grinder with ground beef coming out of it stands for a meatloaf and so on. That's just the way they turned out as thumbnails. Quite a lot was omitted because the thumbnail photographs are gross. Like a dead turkey soaking in brine.

Bummer. I made a mistake. This is actually 2009.

Pictures of what came out the other end would take things to the next level! What was digested and what leftover? With the big question being, what life energy did that selection of food provide and what transpired as a result?

What were the traumas of 2009 and what were the triumphs? What 3 memories of events or people, music or writing come to mind or stand out for that year?

What's the difference between saving and collecting the last squeeze in a ketchup bottle and updating pictures of food made and consumed ten years ago?

What's the same is someone behind those acts who believes they've got something worth saving.
