...but they sure like their ursine talisman.
The New York Giants' offensive line are taking their good-luck teddy bear to Lambeau Field for the NFC wild card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. link
The bear projects an image of rugged masculinity for several players, including Elisha Manning. First given to the team in 2007, the bear is credited with the Giants' victories over Green Bay in 2007 and 2011 at Lambeau Field.

I like the ambiguity of the "Manning" tag.
A rare sighting. A chickelit sports post.
Nick: I tend to win at Trivial Pursuit but Sports & Leisure usually kills me.
They Might Be Giants was one of those bands that I bought everything as it came out and then suddenly lost all interest as if someone had kicked the electric cord and pulled the plug right out of the wall socket. Have no idea what happened. Just done.
Same thing happened with Elvis Costello, Green Day, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Breaking Bad. I look back and go "What happened?"
Oh well.
In Mad Men there a psychologist chick who gets unceremoniously dumped by Don Draper and she is not pleased. She confronts him, "You only like the beginning of things."
Boom!
I watched The Simpsons from their beginnings on the Tracey Ullman show up until the early 2000s, They went from blasting both Bill Clinton and Bob Dole into outer space to kissing Michelle's ass, so you could say I didn't leave The Simpsons, they left me. Way to the left.
chick, At the risk of being immodest, I too am pretty good @ Trivial Pursuit. Science is my weakest category. My family will tell the story on how I once ran the table. I got the first roll and nobody else got a move. And, I always say, truthfully, it was a lot of luck w/ the dice. My opponents chose science as my final category and the question was easy, I forget what it was.
I just stayed @ a beautiful Apache resort casino, Inn of The Mountain Gods, in Mescalero, NM. Here's an easy musical question for someone of your expertise. On January 20th, the group that had the hit, Slow Ride, will be playing there. Who is it?
Hog Fat?
LOL! You can see them for as low as $20. I have a musician friend who will go see these old groups. He says often it's just one member of the band and a bunch of younger musicians.
I spoke with my mom last night. She said the temp at Lambeau will be 9 at kickoff.
My dad used to have season tickets when the Packers played half their games at County Stadium in Milwaukee. I would usually go to one game with him. Everyone around us, including my dad's friends, passed around these suede canteens filled with korbel brandy. They probably can't do that anymore, huh? Oh and they all smoked cigars.
@Titus: The 'gars were probably Dutchmasters, Muriel, or Swisher Sweets.
Amirite?
