Trump presser, pre-departure to Europe

Trump is going to France. A place he said he wouldn't go.

In fairness he meant he wouldn't go as tourist due to its devolved condition. Burn! But now his job fairly requires traveling where he'd rather not go.

A portion of this interview was excerpted earlier but the whole thing is quite good. We see a president take luxurious time with reporters answering their questions carefully. We note Trump is training them how to behave. He's very good at managing outrageous people and ridiculous questions. He is cleaning up their act and the changes are interesting to observe. The quality of questions are shaping up. Respect is demanded and given. At least pretend respect. Slowly but surely the White House press corps is evolving to something slightly less feral.

We see Trump keeps a 10 foot pole distance. Measure yourselves from me! You swine.

Nice.

Given their antagonism I find it remarkable that after giving that long election postmortem presser just the other day, he again gives them over 20 minutes before leaving for France.

He's accessible.
