And this is Detroit.
Trying it first in someplace like Spokane might be a better idea.
Gordon said to fight effectively, faculty and students need to be prepared to throw heavy objects that will cause a distraction
Distract in order to do what? What is the end goal? What outcome are they hoping to achieve? After throwing a hockey puck at an active shooter, what's next move to make?
...I remember getting hit in the head with a hockey puck once and it hurt,
I'm flummoxed by this. It's ok to attempt to "hurt" an "active shooter" with a hurled projectile as long as it's a hockey puck? Was the hit that hurt from a thrown puck or one that was whacked with a stick?
This is weirder than a room full of pointed red trees.
Did they give whistles to women in case of rape?
An active shooter who sees a hockey puck coming at him or feels himself being hit or hurt by one isn't going to instinctively or automatically turn his weapon toward the person who threw the puck?
At least the idea of arming someone (under the guise of distributing a protective distraction with the potential to hurt) is being considered with some sort of action taken in this Thousand Pucks to U initiative.
Don't bring a hockey puck to a gunfight.
lol AllenS. That's what it comes down to.
