I saw Chaka Khan in Williamsburg, Va in 2007 along with Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs. What a show. Chaka was big and dressed in a leather jump suit. She looked like the Michelin Man (here). After each performed separately, they all shared the stage and started jumping around singing 70s funk. It was electrifying. The thing that surprised me was that all the 20-somethings knew all the lyrics. Anyhow, the lady can sing and she's a born entertainer. (Bruce and Ricky weren't half bad, either, including their traumatizing bluegrass rendition of Rick James' Super Freak.)
BB gave one of my favorite musicians his first big break, inviting him to open for him when the guy was 12 years old. Joe Bonamassa.

Chaka Khan sure can yell.
And I didn't realize Etta James es tan tanto grande.
Just what I needed! Helps take the bite out of the freezing rain and 40 mph wind I'm getting now.
