"Refusing to allow neutrality on Trump will not end well"

Via Instapundit : “Are you now, or have you ever been, a supporter of Donald J. Trump?” It would be ominous if witnesses in congressional hearings had to endure this type of McCarthyite interrogation. But what do you call it when sportswriters demand that a professional athlete answer the same question?

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, for example, calls himself a “good friend” of the new president. Consequently, the football star faced journalists’ demands to “publicly disavow Trump’s actions,” as one USA Todaycolumnist wrote. Brady, not wanting to detract from his team’s Super Bowl preparations, responded by claiming his “right to stay out of it.” But several commenters made clear that the court of public opinion honors neither the right to privacy nor one against self-incrimination. Not in the Age of Trump.

As in sports, so also in show business. Actress Nicole Kidman found it necessary to apologize for her anodyne post-election statement that “we as a country need to support whoever is president.” After he asked Trump the kind of superficial questions guests have faced for 62 years on NBC’s “Tonight Show,” critics denounced host Jimmy Fallon for aiding and abetting Trump’s election. “Now,” Slate warned, “even if celebrities [want] to opt out of the current moment, they can’t…. Doing nothing is doing something. Silence either signifies ‘I’m for Trump’ or ‘I’m for myself.’”

More reasons to stop watching those kinds of televised sports programs. What kind of idiots watch them?

This horseshit occurs on a micro scale every day in factories, offices, homes, clubs, etc.

The proper answer is "Go. Fuck. Yourself."

If you want to be more polite you say:

"I am an athlete. Who I vote for or support politically is none of your business, unless I make a campaign contribution to them. Why do you care? What is your agenda?"

Then say: "GFY"

Of course, the problem is if you do endorsements, you do not want to create controversy. Hence the reason this is an issue at all.

We have met the enemy.

And they deserve to be destroyed.

In other news: Summer Box-Office Blues: Revenue Down 10 Percent So Far From 2016

It's not like 2016 was a stellar year either for Hollywood.

Things not going well for the music singers either: 2016, the Worst Year for Album Sales Since the Last One

It's harder to find in a single link, but College applications are down as well.

This is why they oppose Trump and his wall; they've pissed on 1/2 half the country, which has decided not to buy their BS anymore. So they want to import customers, which if they were inclined would have purchased from their own country. And how do those imported customers handle the entertainment industry? Well, that's other news...

I hear that even Adele's concert bombed.

Too soon, Sixty?

Todd Rundgren recently outed himself as just another bottom for Rodham. He told his remaining fans to stay away from his shows if they voted for Trump.

You'll notice that I haven't picked on Lema Dunham in a while. That's because a few sensible things have come out of her mouth recently. I think losing all that weight got her her self esteem back.

Nope. Trump is dancing with the sponsors of the bombing and our government is importing them like there is no tomorrow. I tend to lose my sense of humor at times like this.

I meant the comment about the bombing. It wasn't an Adele concert, either.

Good catch, Chickie - it was something called Ariana Grande, and since I have never been to a Starbucks, I figured that was some syrupy sweet coffee flavored drink.

My bad. I can't tell one modern singer from another.

It's going to get better.

They've found the leakers and it looks like several very heavy books will be thrown at them.

That's a lot of nonsense.

The sponsors of the bombing back the Democrat party in every election.

What if the leakers were Rinse and Race?
