Time magazine, is that still a thing?

Via Trump tweet we learn that Time magazine contacted Trump for possible man of the year. The "possible" part cued Trump to decline.

The thread to this tweet is beautiful. It's emotional art; surface distain, misconception of supposed intellectual superiority, and flights of glee with fits of genuine laughter.

In other threads on other sites commenters have more space to express that they already know Trump is Man of the Year because they elected him and they've watched his successes accumulate without media help and despite media detraction. They don't need Time to jump to the front and presume that they made Trump the Man of the Year, nor do they want its meaningless symbolism and marketing for the benefit of Time. They all sense a setup where Time offers then pulls the rug and writes about that, or Time bestows then accompanies the title with distorted interview. They are laughing. And applauding. They love seeing Trump treat media as cockroaches.

We saw this again yesterday where Trump contacted military overseas by phone and then had media leave the room for a personal phone conversation with them, so we don't know the details of what he said to them, but we can deduce it. And we can deduce what that meant when the idea of it being for media attention is dismissed. And again with Coast Guard station we saw Trump ask the Coast Guard, "Should we allow the media to stay? What the heck. It's a holiday. They can stay." So we get to see his interaction, (and his bragging, to be honest) while we also see the distain that media feels for Trump returned to them even as they must cover Trump. They need Trump, individually, more than Trump needs them, individually. While they abuse each other collectively. Trump needs media. But Trump doesn't need Time. While Time is near nothing without Trump. So it's pleasing to see Trump dismissing something that's almost an honor where pretty much anyone else you can name would be grasping for the acknowledgment. Trump just doesn't trust them, nor should he.

This was going to be a hit job on Trump. An interview and major a photo shoot. Please. You know what was coming. Also, how snarky to say you are probably chosen. That is a set up for him to say yes, so they can say, sorry, we chose someone else. They would make sure that got out to the media pronto. The media would run non-stop making fun of Trump being dumped by Time magazine.

Our President knows a bad deal when he sees one and will walk away. His smarts benefit all of us regarding bad deals, trade and otherwise.

THAT, my friends, is how you create leverage out of thin air. The “man of the year” award is an exercise in marketing for none other than Time magazine.

Time editors will think twice next time there is a potential hit piece on Trump. It just cost them potentially millions in sales.

* Grandma Covfefe says:
LOLolololol——oh, we love that guy. This is just rich, really really RICH! President Trump know how to turn rock into gold.

We don’t need any magazine to tell the whole world he is the Man of the Year. We and the world already know that and the Time knows that, too. As usual, Time Magazine is just trying to get ahead of the truth, and then take credit for making President Trump the Man of the Year. NOT–It is WeTheAmericanPeople who made President Trump the Man of the Year one year and 16 days ago. WE get credit for that, not Loser Time Magazine. LOLOLOLOLOL

…And many countries have already considered President Trump the Man of the Year by showing him high respect. Look at all those unexpected but wonderful “royal” welcomes he received when he visited other countries.

I think the last time anybody cared was when Hitler got it for Munich in '38.
