NBC fires Matt Lauer

A GIF derived from this is posted on Imgur, a commenter posted a link to YouTube.

Isn't it interesting that Matt Lauer gets 0 support from anybody? I haven't seen any.

I read a Twitter thread today, always a bit of a risk and distressing, started by a post referencing Matt Lauer and Garrison Keillor. Twitter members responding always veer way off base to attack from all sides, above and beow. One said it's a joy observing the left consume itself. Another was triggered by that and responded, "At least the left corrects itself while the right still supports Roy Moore and Donald Trump."

Thanks for acknowledging your original targets.

The comparison, of course, goes to Al Franken and John Conyers and ultimately to Bill Clinton, not Hollywood celebrities and media personalities. The left protects their political pervs and so will the right for now on until that game of imbalance is fully acknowledged for what it is. Nancy Pelosi's "our pervs are better than their pervs" doesn't cut it. They'll have to do better than that. How distressing for traditional conservatives, and for Democrats who played that imbalance so well.

I have no idea why Will Farrel is considered funny.

The Whigs aren't "traditional" Conservatives.

Some may have been at one time, but now they are the dough-faces of the post FDR era

It's not that hard to fake warmth and sincerity, but he was the best at it. Decency, kindness, concern for single mothers--these redeeming qualities were all on display in Matt Lauer's persona, if not his life. Charley Rose was very good at it too, but Matt Lauer was the best.....Also credit must be given to their female cohosts for the way they feign shock and amazement upon learning that the man they've worked beside for years had this hidden, dark side to his personality. I thought Savannah was particularly good. Much more convincing than Nora......These are all fine performances. They'll have trouble finding replacements.

Lauer was funny in that sketch. Too bad nobody told him that sexually harassing and assaulting young interns was unacceptable work behavior.
