Martin O'Malley: Democratic Party regenerating like after a bad forest fire

Now there's visual thinking.

O'Malley said words to Jonathan Karl and Rick Klein on the Powerhouse Politics podcast.

Words spoken:

* Fire started in 2008, Obama squandered the energy of his candidacy. Elaborated with more words.

*2016 Clintons were formidable force and did everything they could to win.

[unsaid words: and they lost to Trump who used less resources and with less establishment support]

* But now it is the DNC that needs to rebuild

[unsaid words: Duh!]

More words lined up in sentences and actually spoken so vapid it's no wonder they lost.  Read them if you care to. Again, comments are more penetrating than Martin O'Malley talking.

Good Luck, DNC. A nation chock full of worked up political crackpots depends on you.

Between the Resistance, the sex allegations, Joe and Hillary wanting to run again, and The Donald setting his legacy, the Left has a long way to go before it credibly regenerates.

Blame McCain and Murkowski.

The pendulum swings because both parties suck.

The GOP sucks slightly less, but the press give the GOP such bad coverage, it's a draw in the eyes of most people.

Martin "Carcetti" O'Malley needs to show Americans how he'd deal with "Ballmer" in an effective way.

The pendulum swings. That's the whole story. Even if Trump were to have a hugely successful presidency (or maybe because of that) the voters would decide at some point that "it's time to give the other guys a chance." The Democrats will be back. And for no other reason than change partners.

I get that reference, CL, having just rewatched The Wire, and for as predictive as that show was, the reality on the ground is much worse. I used to go to Bawmer all the time, starting in about 1955 or so, but I wouldn't set foot there now, not even the Inner Harbor. It is hell on earth.
