This hasn't happened, or I haven't seen it, someone argue that conservatives are all screaming fake news because Donald Trump called them that. What I do see is the reverse of this imagined argument. That was a main complaint of conservative voters left hanging with no representation. 

They saw through the news as presented. They saw the spin and they saw what was not being covered. They wanted someone to fight back. Trump listened. Trump is expressing their feeling, their intuition, and giving it a very strong voice in his way. And now his supporters are using his phrasing. And it is very much like sheep.

Democrats forever misread their opponents. While they push for the things they want out of government, they also take what their party gives them. They make the same arguments their party makes and sound like sheep doing it.  While conservative voters express through their voting that they are flat not having that anymore. No more blind loyal support. But that whole point of view is hard to argue when everyone is screaming fake news because they sound like the same sheep. Democrats argue as if conservative voters behave as Democrats do. Democrats understand themselves first. And that's why so much of their argument is identified by conservatives as projection. Pelosi claimed Tea Party was astroturf because that's how Pelosi knows things are done. She wasn't lying, she was relating truth as she knows it. 

I heard a CNN woman telling another on a panel to stop saying fake news because the phrase is used agains us. 

I enjoy seeing Trump provoking American media telling them they're no better than Russian TASS and Pravda. Because it's true. But American media is worse. Because they do it voluntarily, they're not actually part of government yet behave as an arm of their party.
