NY Post: Mayor Bill de Blasio on Thursday skipped an NYPD swearing-in ceremony made somber by this week’s assassination of a cop — then hours later revealed he was busy preparing to jet off on a surprise trip to join leftist protesters at the G-20 summit in Germany.
Hizzoner’s overseas jaunt was kept under wraps until just 90 minutes before he took off from Newark Airport. A last-minute announcement said he “will attend several events surrounding the G-20 Summit, including Saturday’s Hamburg Zeigt Haltung rally.”

The media seem especially incurious as to what the protesters and rioters are protesting and rioting about. I think it's mostly about the party. Not the Communist party, the party party like the Beastie Boys.

Why other clowns, of course. I would expect tough opinionated New Yonkers to be more discerning. Californians don't even try to pretend to be smart, or sophisticated. They believe looking good is all that matters. Here in Las Vegas, all we care about is a cool drink, and you either make it big or make it often, but definitely make it cold. 116 degrees today. It's 108 right now at 9:20pm. Nobody's telling us how big we can make our drinks, or our magazines for that matter. Attempting to do the first will get one an education on the second.
DeBlasio is too ineffectual to ever become dictator. He doesn't have enough clout to ban the horses in Central Park. He's more annoying than threatening You need the support of the police to create a police state. I don't see DeBlasio organizing a putsch anytime soon.....He'll probably win reelection though. God, that's depressing. How does it happen that a city of eight million people chooses such a man to be its mayor?
