Bosch he said.

Being laid up  I am binge watching a lot of stuff on Hulu, Amazon and even Netflicks. The past couple of days I have been checking out season four of "Bosch."

It's pretty good.

The best part is the performance of Titus Welliver who is superb in the role. Long a character actor who specialized in heavies he is taking this role and running with it.

This is of course based on the series of novels by Michael Connelly. This particular season is based on the novel "Angels Flight" which uses a lot of the plot but makes significant changes that only improve the story.

It is always fun to have a series where an author is involved. Time and again these shows are just superior. Elmore Leonard in "Justified' is one example. George Rape Rape Martin in "Game of Thrones" is another. When there is so much good material it is great when it is boiled down to a TV show. This even happens on womans novels on Hallmark. It is just better than the run of the mill muck that TV writers come up with.

In any event I highly recommend this series on Amazon. If you have Amazon Prime it does not cost you anything. If you haven't seen this show you can binge watch four seasons. You will enjoy it immensely.

I watched it and enjoyed it. I had read somewhere that someone thought Titus Welliver was a homosexual. Figured hey, with that name and working in show business, that could be true. Then I read up on him and he has been married 4 times, to a woman each time, and I remembered that young Harry Bosch on the show was played by his son - then I hit upon why someone might think he is gay - his forth wife's name is "Jose". Looked her up - definitely all woman, as near as I can tell. Hollywood, even when it's not weird it's strange.

But back to the story - my favorite scene out of the 4 seasons is when he threw his boss through a window. Very well acted, smooth martial arts move, bam, boss is on the other side of the glass. And Bosch was in the right. Good stuff - I mean who hasn't wanted to toss their boss through a window, right?

And how cool is it that there is a funicular right in L.A.? It is very cool, that's how cool it is.

Watched Episode 1 Season 1, which is a teaser on Youtube. Powerful stuff. I know this will sound like a stretch but Welliver has a facial similarity to DiMaggio.

Guys who play heavies are usually better actors than the pretty boys.

Think Marvin. Bronson. Borgnine. Richard Conte. Robert Forster.

All excellent actors.
