There was never a world without Karens. Something a Roman Catholic upbringing (which includes Karens of both sexes dressed in matching outfits) could possibly have alerted the faithful to take into consideration and be on the watch for twisted snakes, were they not so intently focused on making rules that couldn't be questioned and keeping scripture out of the hands of the people in order to maintain power and control.
As the old story goes, Once upon a time there was a man who ratted out a woman and a woman who told on a snake and then blamed the whole thing on the government in charge of stocking and running the nature park where they'd taken up residence.
