“I’ve talked to lots and lots of business leaders, especially the smallest businesses. They’re very worried about their futures understandably, but they also are hanging on and they know it can be a matter of months until they’ll be back in action,” de Blasio said on WNYC Friday."
City Councilman Mark Gjonaj blasted the mayor’s remarks.
“Out of all the things that have come out of his mouth, this is the most outrageous. He lives in a de Blasio land. That is the furthest thing from the truth,” said the Bronx Democrat, who chairs the council’s small business committee.
“He is not in touch with reality and all he has to do is walk down a commercial corridor to understand what is happening to our small businesses,” Gjonaj said.
“He is setting up the city for failure. He’s going to leave City Hall in the worse condition that this city has experienced since World War II and the Great Depression,” he said.
Many small businesses are already gone. Doesn't he know that they owe three months rent and utilities. A number that they can not come back from. Hundreds of restaurants are closed for good. Their margins are so slim they can't take the hit. People that have invested their life savings have gone bust. De Blasio thinks they can just open up with that monster hit of debt and can continue when they can not get a loan. The banks will give the SBA loans to people without collateral or the money guarantied by big businesses. That''s why the Lakers and Planned Parenthood get the money and the local bodega or diner gets jack shit. The Democrats are clueless as to what the shut down means to the economy.
It is too late to fix it now. That ship has sailed. New York will continue to morph into a place where you will be either super rich or really poor. There is no room for anyone else.

A thriving restaurant in our town just closed.
Restaurants just reopened at 5:00, along with personal services (barbers, nail salons, etc.). I stopped at my barber's first, figuring he'd be desperate and would open immediately. He did. He said he's been cutting on the sly here and there, which I knew, but I never caught him when he was there, so I've been two months without a haircut. I asked him if the satisfaction of redeeming hippies made up for the lost income. Yeah...right... After that, we went out to dinner. Stupid setup in the restaurant in order to maintain social distancing, but the food was good and it was nice no to have to order take out.
I went to Asheville yesterday and drove back on the back roads, because I like to take the back roads. I passed a restaurant a couple of towns over and the parking lot was full. There's no way they were all ordering take out. I wondered if the local law enforcement agencies had let it be known they weren't enforcing the bullshit from Raleigh. And I wondered how many places didn't go on record as defying these dictatorial Governors, but the de facto practice is business as usual. Probably more than I guessed.
De Blasio must be lying about talking to any business owner who's less than outraged by this nonsense. Surely, this clown will not get reelected, right?
Kaiser Wilhelm is, after all, a Commie.
What the Hell else did you expect?
Governor Fatass Pritzker who has released violent criminals but has the state under house arrest is bringing in Illinois construction workers to his Wisconsin farm to build a 7000 sf
addition on his 2.5 million dollar horse farm. His fat ass wife and and fat ass children are flying all over the place while Illinois is in lockdown. The dem controlled senate slipped in a bill to make a graduated income tax in the state which his fatassness eagerly endorsed. Until he got his governor salary he, a billionaire trust fund baby, never had an income.
Ohio:
"As patrons potentially flock to bars and restaurants over the holiday weekend, extra undercover agents will be out to observe, educate and, if necessary, enforce the state’s public health order to thwart the spread of coronavirus.
The agents are part of the Ohio Investigative Unit, which is made up of plainclothes peace officers responsible for enforcing Ohio’s alcohol, tobacco and food stamp fraud laws.
Along with looking for criminal activity, the officers now are tasked with watching for potential violations of the state’s health order for restaurants and bars to safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic."

windbag, Of course he's lying. This restaurant was a large, well run, busy place. It was our go to restaurant and it was always superb. The extra $600 unemployment per week is killing owners who can't get their people to return. That's why Dems insisted on it.
My bride has been my barber for years. Not much to cut.
Judge Napolitano is related to the Pritzkers? Who knew?
