Slate finds "disturbing" that so many of the docs fighting Ebola are missionaries.

Yes, by all means, let's keep God out of this. Perhaps the missionaries should be told to go home.

An old music biz associate of mine recently divorced his wife and replaced her with a mistress half his age. This outraged his friends and associates.

So, he's joined the Ebola crusade to burnish his image. Off to Africa... well, for a few weeks anyway.

In the past week, he's turned up at a villa on the Midi in the south of France. Apparently, his missionary work is over.

I'm so retrograde, I think a little Christian proselytizing along with provision of medical services is a good thing. Animism really isn't all that cool, and don't even get me started on Islam.

Wow. Lots of terrible headlines today: possible Ebola in D.C. Another beheading. Where is POTUS golfing today?

There was no getting away from it.

Bush 43 stepped back from his unguarded reference to a "crusade," if memory serves.

He might have had a good reason for that.

And I, for one, welcome our new penguin overlords.

It's a shame we can't sick [sic] Ebola on ISIS and halve the news bandwidth.

Ann Coulter said the same thing.

tits.

The author of the article, an atheist, is disturbed that missionaries treating the stricken of Africa might be spreading the gospel.
Concluding thoughts from Slate author: "As an atheist, I try to make choices based on evidence and reason. So until we’re finally ready to invest heavily in secular medicine for Africa, I suggest we stand aside and let God do His work."

Shorter asshat: Until other human beings think as I do they can all just die in droves.

Hideous.

Ann Coulter said the same thing.

Which just proves that Coulter and the left aren't that far apart.

The doctor contracted Ebola, but he didn't try to sneak into the country unnoticed...he didn't knowingly spread his disease like some HIV positive guy spewing loads willy-nilly.

Coulter's criticism of Christian missionary medical providers abroad was that they are narcissistic attention-grabbers bored with the thankless grind and tedium of saving American souls and opting to score glamorous points with more accommodating poverty stricken and disease ridden souls abroad. It's a point, not sure it's a good one, but she's not saying withhold medical treatment unless it's secular.

@Iowahawk distils the essence:

Lemme see if I understand this correctly: (1) missionary MDs treating Ebola are anti-science, and (2) travel restrictions are racist.

The Lefties believe the State is God and don't feel they have to lift a finger.

But, Obama forbid, we let in missionaries who want to spread the word of God and not Marx as they help people.

Why can't we stop flights from West Africa till this thing is settled.

Fear of "Racism"? Or Open Borders Fanatics?

Funny. During today's commute, listening to the lectures, the evolutionary psychology guy was talking about how individual selection can't explain altruism and the eusocial insects.

I got out of the car and stopped listening before he got to that thing about jumping into the freezing water to save eight cousins but I might be remembering a different lecture series.

After a while they all sort of run together.

Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.

Hey, everybody! I had a titus moment the other day!

I was in WalMart, and I saw this really fat, ugly, shabbily dressed, diseased-looking lady with her retarded son who was fat, and ugly, and dressed like a slob, who looked like a carbon copy of his mother . . .

And the thought occurred to me: "You're gross! Why did you reproduce and make another version of yourself? Are you so stupid you can't realize that you're disgusting???!!!

And then I thought to myself: "Wow. That's dark, self-hating and abhorrent, same as titus."

Or in other words . . . Hideous.

From CNN -- Hazmat crews clean up, quarantined quartet move out due to Ebola case:

Judge Clay Jenkins, director of the county's Homeland Security and Emergency Management, said Friday that Duncan's partner slept last night on a couch pillow on the living room floor. But now she and the others have a new place to call home in the meantime: a private 4-bedroom residence in Dallas, which was arranged with the help of someone in the local faith-based community.

Sounds like some dang Christians are at it again.

Slate finds anything related to "missionary" disturbing. Too hetero-normative.

Any admission that open borders are in any large or small way a pathway for disease calls into question the whole concept of open borders.

The government wants us dead. The sooner you understand that the clearer their motivation becomes.
