vza, I heard that story before, but I did not hear the part about making his arm a compass. That is what this is doing. Moving the paper so the arm can be a compass. When I heard it, I imagined he drew it on a blackboard or a wall, but your link says paper, and arm like a compass.
When I was in 10th grade, I had a geometry teacher named Mr. Savage (who was). He could face the class, reach behind himself, and draw a perfect circle on the blackboard. Every time. He did it on the first day of class, and the place went berserk. Of course, he was a savage. Tough class. I liked it. I'm naturally good at that stuff. I cannot draw a circle though.

Leonardo could do it.
It was his signature.

REM had a song called "Perfect Circle."
That's about all I remember.
I use CAD and that is close enough for me.
