Allen chapter 8

The class studying Middle Egyptian hieroglyphics was assigned exercises 20 - 26 at the end of the chapter. The chapter is about prepositions and adverbs. Allen is showing his readers new vocabulary as they go and this amounts to a clue for solving the exercises. The sentences are all written backwards in the text, all the people and the birds are looking to the right. The sentences are flipped here to read left to right.

The students take a stab at translation.

Horus who is over the head of foreign lands.

In other words, Egypt First.

All this proves is that there is nothing new under the sun.

Even back then they were anticipating Trump's America First.

Or is Trump's America First a tip of the hat to Egypt?

I don't know! I'm not smart like Fredo.

Perhaps a bit of both.

Chip, you amaze me. That takes an incredible amount of discipline to do that.

I am really in awe.
