"Guardian Angels return to New York's Central Park"

"[T]hey made a pointed return to New York's Central Park for the first time in more than two decades, citing a 26 per cent rise in crime there so far this year."
"We realise things are much better than they were" in the crime peak of the 1980s and early 90s, said Curtis Sliwa, the group's founder, but "we want it to stay that way."...
Onlookers' reactions ranged from thumbs up to raised eyebrows. "Time warp!" one passing jogger exclaimed.
"I didn't even know they were still in business," said Christine Adebiyi, a resident of Harlem, before adding: "It's great to see them here."

Allowing crime to rise is intentional. Because you first have to have a crisis in order to not let that crisis go to waste. This is always and everywhere the Left's modus operandi. DeBlasio will announce shortly that crime is on the rise because of an underlying cause. And what is that underlying cause? Rising inequality. And what is the solution? Mr. & Mrs. Average Citizen will just have to suck it up and "contribute" more to government coffers so that government can attack that dastardly inequality and then crime will decrease.

This is not a Troop post?

My best to Mrs Troop and hope Hubbo is on the mend.

I'm sure he's an impatient patient.

Good to see Sliwa back on track. Time hasn't been good to him and neither was the mob, but he's a tough bastard and hopefully their presence alone will be useful unless DeCommunist does something colossally dumb. Oh wait.

Some advice for these people --

You get a lot more from a kind word and a gun than from a kind word alone.

You can go further with a smile and a gun, than with a smile alone.
