It's a terrible symbol to protect your body as you're sleeping. To an occultist type the symbols would invite lower astral beings, mindless entities, ne'er do wells of the lower energy patterns hardly organized meanderers. The symbols attract them to the sleeping vulnerable unprotected body.
Better to have known protective symbol, here the winged solar disc is such, we talked about this before in the form of tattoos. That is a protection symbol and it m't'rfkn works. It is carved in stone over doorways and etched in solid gold, actual gold wings that wrap a protected body and inside the coffin, the exact same protective pattern. The symbol says quite clearly, "Don't come near this helpless thing or I will peck your eyes out and shred your skin." It is a fierce symbol infused with protective energy that drives off such low energy types effectively.
I got a story for you, but it takes too long. This box here is infuriatingly limited and I'm shit at division. At any rate, winged scarab, winged solar disc, wings of Horus, eagle wings, turkey wings, airmen's chevron, are all a lot better vulnerable sleeping body-protection symbol than "poison" or "pirate."
