What could go wrong with a currency built on nothing other than arbitrary, complex mathematical algorithms that no one understands and no physical properties to even back it up?
Some things are as good as or better in virtual reality. Money doesn't seem to be one of them.
Well, the idea seems kind of silly as far as mining for bitcoins by solving algorithms...equations(?)
Marshal was kind enough to post a McArdle article for me, the conclusion of which seemed to be that ultimately it is not possible to disentangle bitcoins from real money.
Canada getting in on the idea with their own version makes it much more interesting.

Well, the other currencies in the world are built on politicians. That's a pretty low bar to clear.
