"In the nearly 16-minute, edited video, the fifth released by Center for Medical Progress, a woman identified as Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, discusses pricing for specimens -- ranging from intact fetuses to tissue and organs -- for outside tissue procurement companies."
“Yeah, and so if we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget, that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this,” Farrell said. “I mean it’s all just a matter of line items.”
Altering abortion procedures to procure fetal tissue, delivering intact fetuses and selling fetal tissue for profit are all against federal law.

The Obama Administration has taken the Sgt. Schultz "I see nothing" tactic. I have seen 4 WH people interviewed and all 4 have emphasized "I have not seen the video." Now, that is almost certainly a FUCKING lie. They have seen the video, and conclude the only tactic they have is to say they haven't. WTF else can any sane person w/ a heart say?
LOL! I see Chip covered what I just said, AT LENGTH!
With some luck there's a tiny chance that this might actually distract from the goofy antics of the current Republican primary, and its chief narcissist.
Ritmo, Do you think all Planned Parenthood employees have been instructed, DO NOT GO OUT FOR A MEAL W/ ANYONE NOT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY.
What Brooks sees in Ritmo's linked NYT piece is exactly the sort of narcissism many of us complained about in Obama. That Brooks was an active "fluffer" for Obama is a matter of public record and will never go away.
Turnabout is fair play and the fact that people cannot see that the "Trump des Willens" phenomenon is natural consequence of the sort of idolatry lavished on Obama is the sign of a closed mind.
Oh and it seems like a WH silence on the tissue issue is tacit WH approval of every aspect of PP's atrocities. That's the way logic works.
To play Devils Advocate for just a few seconds, PP's response should not be denial, silence, or further obfuscation; rather they should be trumpeting every disease cured and every live saved by the sort of research done with fetal tissue.
I wondered when the defenders of death would come out. Guess who showed up right on cue.

Not to mention the Senate couldn't get enough votes to even bring it to the floor. This is FUBAR.

What is really funny is that you deflect using the deflection of others. I will never understand your incessant need to morally equivocate.
Who's going to be the first pro-PP pol to say about the videos that "it's like watching sausage getting made." I vote for Uncle Joe.
Trump's support in the polls is, I think, made up largely of people who see an opportunity to tell the establishment to go fuck themselves. I heartily endorse the sentiment but would probably resist the temptation and pick Cruz if asked. He's "go fuck yourself" lite.
One more thing: David Brooks, go fuck yourself.

Every time Methadras takes a sh*t or wakes up in the morning, dead tissues are dumped out of or off of his body. But because of their resemblance to his maker he's less nostalgic about them.
Oh and all this time, I thought my dumps where in your honor. Be that as it may, my DNA still signifies me as a human being and nothing else. Yours on the other hand is up for debate.
Guess who had to go there? I was just content pointing out that this is another Republican attempt to divert from their circus of a primary and leaving it at that.
And I was pointing out that you deflect whenever one of your pet topics dog whistles you into a compelling reason to show up. It's Pavlovian.
PP broke no law and the the disinformation-feeders that instruct Republican voters know this full well.
That remains to be seen. Furthermore, it isn't about whether they broke the law, because clearly you can't get past the ideology, but rather it's the idea that they are brokering the sales of murdered babies in part or whole by negotiating costs to them while these people work for PP.
The legality is a different debate. The real debate is whether or not taxpayer money should be going to subsidize this group at all, considering the facts we who care about this topic have known PP has been doing all along. They are willfully murdering babies in-situ, negotiating their sales post mortem. Do you deny that?
However, the senate has clearly spoken. The WH house has clearly spoken. They have spoken that they are turning their heads to this wholesale slaughter of unborn Americans. A slaughter you support, which earns my eternal enmity for who you are and what you are and hopefully, someday a comeuppance that will be due.
Roe v. Wade will not be revisited let alone overturned.
No once cares. No one is talking about that. Stay on topic, adhd-boy.
OB/Gyns will not revert to being controlled by the Federal government.
No once cares. No one is talking about that. Stay on topic, adhd-boy.
Women will not vote for people who want to control their bodies.
Women are voting more and more to fight for life. The only ones that would dare vote for this form of murder are leftists which aren't worthy of living.
Stem cells will continue to be used in medical research.
And that has to do with what since adult stem cells have put fetal stem research out of business. Stay on top, try hard to concentrate, and focus like a laser beam, not a light bulb.
End of story. Emote and fumigate all you want. It's just a demonstration of how puny the agenda and the contribution really is.
That's about it.
Later.
You miss the point every. single. time. Thanks for playing Misdirection, you failed again.
I feel bad for people who genuinely are moved by issues like these. The video is nothing more than the gynecological equivalent of the reporting on WMD in Iraq. Always beware of gonzo-ambush journalists, should be the lesson. But apparently some lessons are just too politically inconvenient to learn.
When normal people do this they give their name a funny ring to it like "Ali G" or "Borat" and make millions, all while getting a good laugh and humbling actual politicians. But the abnormal just want to do things like this to make political points that have ceased going anywhere.

Boy, when Titus isn't just an ass, he's an asshole.
Tell that to his diehard defenders like spinelli.
There really is no reason for this hateful and spiteful character called Titus to continue living in these threads. And I don't mean Titus the real human being behind the snarky "wit" who laughs only at himself.
I really don't want to be a part of this, Lem. If it's really just a ratings thing for you as it was for Althouse, then piss-off.
Flounce!
I was upgrading to Windows 10. so I was paying attention.
I meant, I was not paying attention.
I'll monitor the posts more closely.
Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
It's my fault, Rabel. It's been a while since I've seen Methadrax get this, well, excited. I'll delete the posts and if anyone still finds as distasteful what he's made of the quotes and his responses to them as I do, then he can answer for them.
Turnabout is fair play and the fact that people cannot see that the "Trump des Willens" phenomenon is natural consequence of the sort of idolatry lavished on Obama is the sign of a closed mind.
Obama was an electable and effective president. Trump is a lost cause. It's sad that you admit right-wing behavior as incapable of anything other than emulating what they misperceive in their opponents, but that difference alone is wide enough to drive a truck through. Obama inspired people. Trump's entire persona is built on firing ten times as many people as he hires. What you felt a need to imagine in Obama as a sign of insurmountable contempt, is an actual and very unapologetic reality existing in Trump. Trump's record in business is incredibly debatable, but what is undeniable is that in politics, he's the definition of anti-hero.
Paying attention to differences would be helpful. As would be an English class. Basic moral lessons, such as those which escape Trump, abound in literature. And they aren't nearly as convoluted as you imagine.
I read your entire 1:08 response as a denial that narcissism and idolatry played a role in Obama's appeal. You are increasingly easy to read, R&B.
@R&B: Politics is by and large "action/reaction."
Obama was a reaction to Bush II; Bush II was a reaction to Clinton. Trump is a reaction to Obama. This is what I'm calling a natural political phenomenon.
Oh and thanks you Lem for deleting the scum.
@R&B: Perhaps if you recognized some of Obama's more overt and polarizing aspects (like his unwavering support for the topic of this post), you'd be more sympathetic regarding Trump's appeal. It's simple physics.

I'm assuming you thought this comment had a point?
Contrastingly, you are impossible to read.
Aren't you one of those alleged fans of Christianity? For scientists, there's no evidence of "narcissism" in Obama as his capacity for and displays of empathy are capacious and entirely credible. For faith-based sociologists as yourself, there's the maxim of judging a tree by the fruit that it bears (Matthew 7:16). Does Obama attract or inspire people to be greedy and self-absorbed, as Trump does? No. So you jump on the bandwagon of using psychobabble in the most ignorant way imaginable.
"Idolatry" is your confused way of misperceiving enthusiasm. Perhaps you are unaccustomed to feeling enthusiastic?
As for your mistaken notions of narcissism, I'll leave it to you to ask what you know of its own form of exculpatory evidence: Empathy. Not much?
But you remain bang-on the mark in noticing that the right seems incapable of standing for anything other than being copycats for what they get dead-wrong in assessing their opponents.
Obama was a reaction to Bush II; Bush II was a reaction to Clinton. Trump is a reaction to Obama. This is what I'm calling a natural political phenomenon.
You didn't say this. You said Trump's narcissism (and apparently, idolatry) were copies of those (alleged) things in Obama. Isaac Newton defined reactions as "equal and opposite", not as repetition. If Obama's reaction to Bush was what you claim Trump's was to Obama, then he would have trumped-up evidence for reasons to invade two countries in wars-of-choice and ran a bill in the trillions for doing so while keeping it off the books.
But this didn't happen. Quite the opposite, in fact.
@R&B: Perhaps if you recognized some of Obama's more overt and polarizing aspects (like his unwavering support for the topic of this post), you'd be more sympathetic regarding Trump's appeal. It's simple physics.
So a president that has no need or reason to involve himself in inherently polarized topics by responding to an Ali G-type of ambush attack faux journalist front attempting to set them on center stage is "overt" and himself "polarizing"?
Man, I'm really not getting much confidence in your talent for seeing cause and effect.
The public's split, but basically accepts the compromises of what's legal so far. Obama has no duty to play up to your side on it, or even to some nonexistent "middle ground". The law on what can be done with women's bodies is as it stands, and it apparently wasn't violated - all gruesome, unfortunate, unprofessional and inappropriate language in the current scandal notwithstanding.
Does Obama attract or inspire people to be greedy and self-absorbed, as Trump does? No. So you jump on the bandwagon of using psychobabble in the most ignorant way imaginable.
Yes. In the general populace. The whole "Government owes me something."
But you remain bang-on the mark in noticing that the right seems incapable of standing for anything other than being copycats for what they get dead-wrong in assessing their opponents.
The action/reaction I'm referring to is not "copycat" as you imply -- it's action/reaction. Obama is the anti-capitalist (his administrations continual propping up of the Dow is a cynical ploy to maintain 401(k) revenue.
Obama's stupidity in war has yet to play out: his early, explicit support for Syrian rebels (redline against Assad) who latter turned out to be ISIS and his blunder in Libya for which HRC is paying a political price.
And I have to laugh at those he think Obama is secretly undermining Clinton in favor of Biden because the latter will somehow protect his legacy. Try translating to the American people that Beau Biden's dying wish was that his father carry on the Obama agenda.
Your vaunted Obama will be fondly remembered like Jimmy Carter.
The government does owe me something. Competence. Using its funds responsibly, instead of just as a way to do its most powerful donors' bidding. Of course, Republicans are the only job seekers who get away with proclaiming their hatred for the job they're running for, the institution they'd represent, and their intention of getting paid to do less of it. So you channel your irrational and very emotional nature into justifying that by saying that the public interest is bad.
Republicans are in favor of reducing the Dow, you say? I didn't know that. Maybe you should tell them to get that memo out. It would clarify a lot.
That you call Obama's caution in any Syrian and Libyan involvement underscores your ridiculous wish to see America as the Arabs' bitch - picking sides and pouring money into stupid fights that have no benefit to us whatsoever. Why? Because your need for glory really is that great. You might as well send tanks into an anthill. It would have just about the same payout and waste just as much, and be just as pointless.
Ok, and then well go ahead and throw in names like Jimmy Carter - just because you couldn't think of anything else to say. The current crop of conservative clown car passengers are all Calvin Coolidges and Herbert Hoovers. Yes, Republican fuck-ups have a long and illustrious history and no shortage of human disasters to look to as reference points. Plus, they repeat their same mistakes to their letter. Unlike Obama, who has nothing in common with Carter except party affiliation. But then, that's all that matters to you: Politics as tribe and no capacity for actually understanding the decisions (policies) at stake.
That you call Obama's caution in any Syrian and Libyan involvement underscores your ridiculous wish to see America as the Arabs' bitch - picking sides and pouring money into stupid fights that have no benefit to us whatsoever.
Caution? CAUTION?? Vladimir Putin talked Obama down from confronting Assad. Check the historical record. Start with "The Dish."
Libya was just "kinetic military action" -- remember? Not a big deal if Americans don't get hurt. But Americans did get hurt, and the stupid fucking Obama Administration blamed it on a video! Susan Rice-- an Obama fellatrix if there ever was one -- went on national TV to assure us before a very important election.
I'm outta here until tomorrow.
Oh Gawd. Putin? You guys really are in love with that guy, aren't you. It now appears you believe he's in charge of American foreign policy. I imagine Republicans wondering if there's anything that guy can't do. Talk about idolization.
If only Republicans could pretend that as many Americans got hurt in Libya under Obama as got hurt in Manhattan under Bush. It's astounding that you don't realize this is the whole reason for why the country doesn't give a shit. It actually has a memory and remembers which side's fuck-ups are bigger. Massively bigger. Massively more harmful. But you go into a campaign with the propaganda framing you have, apparently.
I kept my comments short and sweet to ease your morning reading. G'night!
The fuck did I miss?
