The names were changed to protect the guilty

When I was a kid we always listened to WINS the all news station to get the traffic report whenever we were going somewhere. They always said the same thing. Heavy traffic on the Belt Parkway. Congestion on the GW Bridge. Bumper to bumper all the way to the Tappan Zee.

The Tappan Zee Bridge was over the Hudson on the way upstate. They should have called it the scary bridge. You see it was very low. You felt like you were right over the water. Bridges bother some people. My  wife hates them and is basically terrified of all of the them. The Tappan Zee is the only one that freaks me out.

That sleazeball Andrew Cuomo had the legislature rename the bridge the Mario Cuomo Bridge to honor his greaseball father the Mob Lawyer. The legislature didn't want to do it but they were all afraid of him. They are not afraid of him anymore and there is a move on to rename it the Tappan Zee. I hope they do.

Or better yet call it the Fucking Scary Bridge. Just sayn'

amper w/ a great pun. For you folks from elsewhere, that's a pun on the Tappan Zee Bridge which crosses the Hudson just north of NYC.
