On Dogs: The Sep-Oct issue of Artists Magazine arrived, one of the last of the paper magazines to continue to show up in my mail. And I opened it tonight to find an article about British artist Sally Muir and her wonderful paintings of dogs. Seeing some of them was enough to make me smile and keep smiling for a long while. Almost but not quite as good as meeting them in person!

"Endlessly fascinated by dogs and the people who love them, the artist is never looking to create perfection in her portraits but rather to capture--quite often with some humor--the essence of the dog, it's personality and the experience of being in a dog's presence.

Dude, was the third dog red all over?
I assumed that Rollo was a chocolate lab.
Rollo is a funny little long haired Dachshund, or as one kid I knew pronounced it "Datsun".
Why did the cowboy get a Dachshund? Because his coworker said "Get along little doggie".
Hey, I just realized that I live in Dachs-state!
You do, but don't let them badger you, okay?
