I was told there would be no Dylan.....in the kids pants!

New York Post, August 11, 2021

Legendary singer and songwriter Bob Dylan plied a 12-year-old girl with drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her at his Chelsea Hotel apartment in 1965, an explosive new lawsuit alleges.

The “Blowin’ in the Wind” musician allegedly used his star status to groom, gain the trust of and control the victim “as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse” her, according to the Manhattan Supreme Court papers, which only identify the plaintiff as “J.C.”

“Bob Dylan, over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff,” say the papers, which were filed late Friday on behalf of J.C., now a 68-year-old woman in Greenwich, Conn.

The suit was filed late Friday, on the eve of the closure of the New York Child Victims’ Act look-back window. The window allowed victims of childhood abuse to file suit  against their attackers and the institutions that protected them regardless of how old the claims were and whether they had since passed beyond the statute of limitations.

No wonder that he was a big hero of moral bankrupt baby boomer types just like Woody Allen. I think it is definitely true and I hope the woman takes him to the cleaners. Just what this ultra liberal piece of shit deserves.

The worst part is he sang for her.

In 1965!
So she's nearly 70. And it's just now dawning on her that Bob Effing Dylan molested her when she was 12?
Bullshit.
And she filed a few hours before the incredibly generous statute of limitations expired.
Last chance for extortion! Going once, going twice, jackpot!
I hope she loses. Even if it happened, which I doubt (and I'm not even a fan; I just don't believe it), she's had ample opportunity to bring the accusation forward and let other 12 years olds know to steer clear of Mr. Tambourine Man but didn't.
Only now when it's the last chance to rake in some mad money does she remember.
The similarity between this case and the Woody Allen case is that in each case the accuser is a crazy old harpy.

Right on cue.

While it's possible or even probable the accuser could turn out to be a crazy 70-year-old harpy intent on extortion, hitting the jackpot and raking in some mad money, there's also a chance something abusive or untoward involving Dylan might have happened to her when she was twelve.

And she may have finally decided as she nears the end of her life, to pay the social and emotional price that comes with speaking out about a secret carried for years, one she knows will cause harm and hurt the reputation of a person she may have at one time liked or enjoyed receiving several weeks of favors and attention from as a 12-year-old girl.

There may also have been a parent or family member involved in making her available or maintaining the secret afterwards. Then again, whatever attention was paid to her by him, could have been innocent and loomed larger in her life than it did in his.

Who knows how this will shake out. From the description given, it doesn't sound like a one-and-done encounter or a groupie-star hook-up, but something more involving time spent together.

It's also possible she waited until the last day to file out of reluctance to follow through with something that would lead to conflict and change in both of their lives, while also being reluctant to remain closed mouth about it and take whatever happened between them with her to the grave.

FWIW, the lawsuit alleges 6 weeks of sexual abuse between April & May 1965 in New York City which is not possible given that Dylan was on tour during that time. I am extremely cynical about these these lawsuits (allegations of ancient depradations) (1) because I have defended them and (2) the way they are treated in the "news" so I'm pretty quick to judge harshly. Most of the ones I've seen are completely opportunistic exploitations for outrage/sensationalism/revenue generation purposes. Maybe the accuser got the timeline wrong but she's had plenty of time to think it over, AND to alert the public to the dangers of Bob Dylan, and so I'm more inclined to think NOT.

I'd have thought she if not her lawyers would have thought to check the tour schedule before filing. However, I've stopped being surprised by how dumb, grasping and mendacious people can be.

My experience with the subject matter comes from the child as victim side, courtroom exposure and legal defense would bring another perspective. I'm curious to see what else shows up,

Part of what gave Blasey-Ford a tiny whiff of credibility, enough to tap into emotional responses from others, was the child voice that came out along with a sense on my part that somewhere along the line she'd experienced a similar experience with someone other than BK. Earlier in life perhaps as a child, played out later in adolescence as a participant engaging in risky behavior with others. While the whole thing appeared to be a crafted fabrication, there was also a grain of truth contained in it, with the wrong person designated as the focal point.

Funny how that child voice came and went, just like her ability to fly around on airplanes. I didn't buy her bs for one second and was really disheartened by how easily led people were about that woman. There was nothing credible about her ancient story of high school bullying. Nothing. Objective signs of deception and dishonesty were rampant. But as a society we are willing to overlook all that. Just more lies and drama from a generation that willed itself to power by melting down emotionally. I think we've all seen it so many times that we judge it against the last tantrum rather than against reality. Magical thinking is not thinking. Woke is not awake. Truthiness is not truth. When someone waits 56 years to bring a lawsuit claiming a significant violation of trust like sexual molestation: Be very VERY suspicious.

I've heard a child voice come through enough times in adults (both male and female, in the 40 to 60 years of age category) who've shared a long held family secret or a personal story of childhood trauma or abuse with me, not to find it funny or odd anymore.

While the bulk of Blasey-Ford's testimony did not ring true and appeared to be a fabrication of twists, lies and drama, the young voice that showed up was enough to make me wonder if something untoward or abusive in her childhood or early adolescence may have taken place with someone other than BK.
