A monstrous mother-and-son duo savagely beat a Mets fan over the weekend outside Dodger Stadium — in an attack so vicious the victim lost part of his skull, LA cops and the man’s friend said Tuesday.
The bloody beatdown unfolded around 10:30 p.m. local time Friday in the stadium parking lot, following the Mets’ 3-1 victory in Game 1 of the National League Division Series.
The unidentified Mets fan was listed in critical but stable condition at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.
“We believe that it is a son and a mother who are responsible for this assault,” LAPD chief Charlie Beck said. “We believe that the weapon used were hands and feet.”
Witnesses said the Mets fan was punched and then fell, hitting his head.
“I walked closer and there was a gentleman on the floor and [he] was bleeding profusely from the head,” witness Maria Cerecer told KABC-TV.
“We got free rally towels that night, so they [good Samaritans] were holding the rally towels to his head.”
There were no immediate arrests, and cops were asking for the public’s help to catch the thugs.
The bloodied Mets fan is from Bakersfield, Calif., which is about 100 miles north of Dodger Stadium, according to USA Today and KGET-TV.
A friend of the victim reportedly tweeted: “Embarrassed to be a Dodger fan as my Mets fan friend is in the hospital missing a piece of his skull after being hit by a lowlife.”
Beck stopped just short of connecting the victim’s Amazin’s allegiance to the bloody attack.
For the deciding Game 5 of the NDLS on Thursday back in LA, Beck promised that cops would be out in force at Dodger Stadium
“Particularly with the tensions between the teams right now and the fans obviously there has been a significant amount of rivalry here,” Beck said. “We will be a presence [at Game 5], there will be a sea of [LAPD] blue.”
Despite the beatdown the Mets have announced that they will not throw at the Dodger fans as they do not believe in retaliation.

Looks like they are going back to Los Angeles.
Of course "the fans" are sacrosanct. If the commissioner had a scintilla of ethical integrity - ha - he would order game 5 played, a la Baltimore, in an empty stadium. But since we are now Rome no such expression of the lawful authority punishing the Dodgers and their vibrant fans is even conceivable.

I always lulz when people incorrectly identify the ground as the floor. if you are in your house, it's a floor. if you are outside, it's the ground. Why is that hard? Oh wait. I forgot, we are entering idiocracy.
