Black Lives Matter!

Breibart News. com by AWR Hawkins October 28, 2015

On October 28, the city of Baltimore posted official numbers that revealed there have been 775 shootings in the city–fatal and non-fatal shootings combined. This marks an 80 percent increase over the number of shootings at this point in 2014.

According to the city of Baltimore stats, the number of fatal shootings alone is at 275–a 54 percent increase over the number of fatal shootings at this same point last year. The number of non-fatal shootings sits at 532, which is an 80 percent increase over the number of non-fatal shootings that had occurred at this time last year. (Note: 275 fatal shootings plus 532 non-fatal shootings add up to a total of 807 shootings. But the official Baltimore stats have the total at 775, so Breitbart News is quoting 775 as the total.)

In is also interesting to note that carjackings are up 74 percent, convenience store robberies are up 149 percent, and gas station robberies are up 170 percent.
These surging crime rates come as former Maryland Governor and Democrat presidential hopeful Martin O’Malley points to the gun controls in Maryland and Baltimore as part of the way forward for America. Writing in The Boston Globe on July 25, 2015, O’Malley said:
In Maryland, we implemented some of the toughest measures in the nation to crack down on gun violence. The reforms we put in place included required licensing, fingerprinting, background checks, and safety training. We ensured that these requirements applied to all buyers, whether they were acquiring a gun from a dealer, a secondary sale, or as a private gift.
We took action to keep guns off the street and make them less deadly. We banned the sale of assault weapons and limited the size of magazines. And, if a firearm was lost or stolen, we required it to be reported immediately to law enforcement.
During the October 13 Democrat debate, O’Malley continually referenced these gun controls as those he would promote as president–though they do not seem to have provided “comprehensive gun safety” for Baltimore.
Of course the handcuffing and actual incarceration of the police who were just doing their job has nothing to do with the increase in shootings and crime. The Ferguson Effect had nothing to do with it. The continuing demonetization of the police by the President and the Mayor and mainstream media is irrelevant.  They just can't seem to put their finger on it.
It must be the phases of the moon or something.

Black Lies Matter

They really have helped the community, just like Barack has.

Seriously, this is the worst race relations have been in my lifetime, and I don't think most Blacks are happy with how things have gone either. Maybe they should try something different besides bitching, rioting, and voting Democrat. Just give it a try - what do ya got to lose?

80%?

Christ, tell me some of those black people are figuring out Democrats are less their friends now than during slavery.

Please.

That figure is an abomination.

If blacks are upset at all the murders in Baltimore they should talk to the black mayor, or the black police chief, or the one of the blacks on the city council - they're in the majority.

Maryland has been the bluest state in the Union ever since Spiro t. Agnew left.

Wow, that is most impressive. Simply outstanding show of legislative force. Uh, so how's it working out for you so far? Oh wait.

I think that it was a good thing that David Dinkins could win election as Mayor of NYC. I thought it was an even better thing that David Dinkns could lose his subsequent election......The most depressing thing about Baltimore is that no one from the black community will see an opening to run on a law and order platform. The current Mayor has apparently decided not to run again, but you can bet her successor will demand a kinder, gentler police force. And you can bet the good citizens of Baltimore will not take out their cell phones and record the dealings of Freddie Gray's replacement on the street corner........Guys like Freddie Gray shoot up playgrounds to protect market share of the drug deals. They themselves are not destined to die a natural death, but let their deaths be under ambiguous circumstances at the hands of the police, then they achieve marry status.

I can see things getting worse, not better.
