On Robust Groups & Front Runners
"Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, said she won't be running for president in 2028.
"There will be a robust group of people running for president, and I will not be one of them in 2028. I can tell you that," Whitmer told Fox 2 Detroit.
Whitmer said that she'd received advice on the importance of "taking a break and not jumping right into something."
Whitmer is nearing the end of her second term as governor, and due to term limits, she will not have a third term.
She is among many high-profile potential 2028 Democratic contenders for president, which includes California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker."

On Dearth & Mirth
I haven't been finding much in the way of cartoons these past few days that aren't a repeat of the same themes and memes I've been posting. This was the thought I came across today that made me smile, harkening back to the race and the win I enjoyed watching on the 2nd of May, with the one below this as the Cartoonstock closer.
We're in full spring mode in here in MI, with the leaves showing up on the trees again, the flowering crabs in bloom, Tulip Time was celebrated this past weekend in Holland, MI, and the below 40 night time temps are hopefully happening for the last time tonight. It's definitely been what my dad used to refer to as "stem weather". Yesterday, I saw the oriole had returned to lend his color to our changing landscape, with the sighting of that spot of orange and the sound of his flute-like song bringing joy, which I consider to be perched on the same branch as mirth.

On Worthy Teams & Patriots
As Surber notes: "...the 5 richest men in America signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. They actually had fortunes and sacred honor to pledge. The signing was August 2, 1776, when 50 of the 56 delegates to the Continental Congress put their John Hancock's on the declaration—including John Hancock.
The sixth richest man was an otherwise engaged General George Washington.
For the first 50 years including five presidencies, these men midwifed a nation like no other in the world because it was founded on the promise of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They nursed it through its infancy.
The Founding Fathers faced the hangman for treason if they failed. Trump assembled a team to restore the republic. They face imprisonment if they fail. They are led by a man who faced the same fate."

As I was saying…..
So while youse guys were busy invading Iran and bullshit like that there ... Lisa and I were busy promoting her novel "The Brooklyn Witch-The Battle for Brooklyn."
We have been doing a mini-book tour of the Libraries on Long Island. Our next one is July 17 at the Elmont Library.
We are also proud of the work we have been doing on our podcast. In response to the feedback from Nick Spinelli we have really solved the audio quailty problem. The Oceanside Library has a wonderful podcast room and we have been posting a new podcast every week. They are on Spotify and you can access them here;
Podcast — Life According to Lisa (and Jim too!) | Lee Lee’s Valise - Lee Lee's Valise
Each podcast is listed on our website and you can follow the link through to Spotify where you can follow and subscribe (at no cost as it is all free),
I hope youse guys have the book and we would love any feedback in the form of reviews or even comments.
Now back to your previously scheduled war.
