"Supreme Court ends John Doe probe that threatened Scott Walker's presidential bid"

"Walker has characterized the probe as a "political witch hunt" designed to intimidate his allies."
Clearing a potentially serious obstacle from Gov. Scott Walker's intended path to the White House, the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday blocked a secret investigation into millions of dollars spent on financing of recall election victories by Walker and other Republicans.

The ruling comes three days after Walker officially announced his candidacy for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, an effort that leans heavily on his status as the only U.S. governor to survive a recall and his successful battle with unions.

SeƱor Judge:

It is utterly clear that the special prosecutor has employed theories of law that do not exist in order to investigate citizens who were wholly innocent of any wrongdoing. In other words, the special prosecutor was the instigator of a "Perfect storm" of wrongs that was visited upon the innocent Unnamed Movants (ugh -- Walker's admin, I think) and those who dared to associate with them.

Best part:

It is fortunate, indeed, for every other citizen of this great State who is interested in the protection of fundamental liberties that the special prosecutor chose as his targets innocent citizens who had both the will and the means to fight the unlimited resources of an unjust prosecution. Further, these brave individuals played a crucial role in presenting this court with an opportunity to re-endorse its commitment to upholding the fundamental right of each and every citizen to engage in lawful political activity and to do so free fro the fear of the tyrannical retribution of arbitrary or capricious government prosecution. Let one point be clear: our conclusion today ends this unconstitutional John Doe investigation.

wholly innocent
tyrannical
capricious
unconstitutional

The midnight raids are especially egregious. Taking computers. Ordered not to speak.

That is lucky. They could have steamrolled over anybody else without repercussion. We used to joke around as kids, study imaginary papers, put on German accents, "Your papers are in order. You may board the train." And now it's flat not funny anymore. We acquiesce at airports for the most sensible reasons, accepting the behavior as normal, giving power to unworthy agencies, getting more than we bargained for, and ceding our freedom incrementally for perceived order. The language the judge uses appears to open the chances for further action. Prosecutor immunity can change. This could be a thing that changes it.

Gabriel Malor has this and others in his feed. He calls it a gut punch. to the prosecutors and DAs.

No better explanation needed.

A bogus investigation from the start. Why isn't that prosecutor indicted and frog-marched?

Meanwhile, Hillary still not indicted. Why? others have spent time in jail for much less.

"This needs to go further. The special prosecutor, filing DA and approving judge need to spend time in a cell."

A thing of beauty. Stuff it, leftists. You are disgrace to liberty, you are corrupt to your core and you belong in jail.

"This case is not over until Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm(D) faces charges of fraud and abuse of office in a court of law."

Lifted from comments at insty.

They should be disbarred... at the very least.

The parties vindicated by this Supreme Court ruling will bring a civil rights lawsuit against John Chisholm, personally, not as the DA. The defense costs will come out of his pocket.

Can hardly wait to hear the motherfucker whine about legal expenses.

Reading the clear and stunning majority opinion, I am utterly puzzled as to why Justices Abrahamson and Crooks dissented. There can be no legal reasoning involved, just deeply held Walker Derangement Syndrome.

Initially I was a Scott Walker fan but lately I am having my doubts. He seems to be walking away from conservative positions to please the media. Witness how he backed down about his remarks on the Boy Scouts. Not good.

Trooper York said...

Is Scott Walker a punk?

Michael Haz said...

No. He's the real deal, being misrepresented and misquoted by a Clinton sycophant media so that people will move away from supporting him. Don't fall for it.

Trooper York said...

Ok. But why did he back away from what he said about the Boy Scouts?

I am just curious. His original comment was 100% accurate. Why change it?

Rabel said...

This tyrannical, capricious and unconstitutional investigation occurred while Scott Walker was the governor, thus proving that Walker is just like Hitler. My Grandfather the psychologist told me so.

Michael Haz said...

I haven't looked into it Trooper, but I will.

Is the Boy Scout issue more important than all the other issues we face, or not?

Trooper York said...

No. But it is a canary in the coal mine.

Trooper York said...

If he can't state the simple truth without collapsing to avoid offendeding the SJW's and the gaystapo then where are we?

Trooper York said...

Trust me I want to believe in him.

Walker has a proven track record of standing up to the left under fire.
Other candidates who can say that? Cruz, Paul
Walker has a proven track record of standing up to the left under fire ... and winning.

Plus, is not a senator.

Trooper York said...

The fact that he stood up to the unions is a big plus. But now he is in the big leagues. Will he stand up or will he fold and tailor his campaign to keep the media happy? Who is he in his heart of hearts?

Amartel said...

Let's wait and see. He's jumped through bigger real-world hurdles than the rest of them so I'm willing to keep an open mind.

Trooper York said...

I agree. I need more information and I need to see how he deals with the process.o

Iowahawk:

"Once again Walker dragged into an alley by a mob of thugs, and once again walks out eating an ice cream cone."

Rabel said...

In other words, don't misunderestimate the man.

Trooper York said...

Explain that one yo me Rabel. Where's the ice cream in this one.

bagoh20 said...

"Where's the ice cream in this one."

The White House kitchen, I hope.

Rabel said...

The Iowahawk quote refers to the John Doe ruling which is the subject of this particular post.

But still, a good question as far as it relates to his handling of the issue you raised. Probably the ice cream (admittedly soft serve vanilla, not Cherry Garcia with sprinkles) is in the fact that almost no one who would vote for a republican really gives a rat's ass about a little waffling around the Boy Scout question and he got the message out that he doesn't personally approve of gay Boy Scout leaders.

He could have done a better job, for sure, but from what I see he didn't completely back off of that appearance of personal disapproval of gay Scout leaders but rather said that it was something that was up to the Scouts to decide. That's a fully Walkeresque approach.

You know well how to read past the headlines.

How many ways from Sunday do you want to bet this has that fucking Pennsylvania mongoloid Trumka's sausage fingerprints all over this?

Trooper York said...

Maybe. I don't demand 100% ideological agreement. But this was a slam dunk that he waffled on. I agree we have to wait and see.

Hey Troop, speaking of coinkydinks (and distracting myself from the Chattanooga murders), just Tuesday night I watched part of a cheesy old monster movie called "Without Warning." Part of the story involved a Scout Troop (Cubs, not Boys, but close enough) and the scout leader was none other than Larry Effin Storch. You were in my thoughts.

Corporal Agarn is still alive and kicking at 92.

The best Boy Scout movie of all time was "Follow Me Boys" with the great Fred MacMurray and a very young Kurt Russell. It is on Amazon Prime and I saw it again the other day. It gives a pretty accurate picture of what the Boy Scouts was like back in the day. At least as I experienced it as a Scout and a troop leader.

I am very sad at what has happened to the Scouts. It is a shame.
