"We're going to be watching what they do in the public"

"Texans organize 'Operation Counter Jade Helm' to keep an eye on the federal troops"
...the organizers insist the radically conspiracy-minded have been filtered from the surveillance volunteers, and no one among their group fears the imminent opening of concentration camps. Lanteri said he struggles to keep that bloc off his Facebook page.

"Once I saw the freaking nut-jobs coming out of the woodwork I was spending half my day discrediting what they were posting," he said. "No nut-jobs will be put in the field."

Spec ops guys have been holding these exercises since Reagan.

One presumes the Austin contingent is very large among "the surveillance volunteers".

PS We should be so lucky if our guys were actually going to start locking up all the Reds in this country.

The headlines are all BS. As you read the story, it is a national organization lead by a New Yorker. And as edutcher notes (and he is right) the largest contingent of nutcases are Austin suburbanites. Of course Abbott is going to suggest that the Texas State Guards go follow around the US military and learn a few things. It is good training. For those idiots up north that don't get it, Texas has long supported its military by local and national.

Before anyone thinks Texans are concerned about the US military, let me demonstrate the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect.
