Try This Pose In Front Of A Mirror

Is it natural?  Is it comfortable for you?  Would you be caught doing it in public? Some of us touch our faces with our hands, often without thinking, but that pose indicates more than scratching an itch. And there are numerous different photos of the President doing this at various points of his career. I don't think they were all photoshopped. Some of them were caught on video too.

WTH is up with it?

P.S. The middle finger gesture is not racial in any way. It reminds me more of something Bill Ayers would do. Or a man schooled far far away by a woman named Stanley.

This is a conditioned pose.
He's used to doing it.
He's cultivated it.
It's almost subconscious at this point.
Very passive but very very angry.

I tried the gesture as you suggested, and it is NOT comfortable.

I feel like I'm flipping everyone off.

@ Pollo Raylan

You've thrown a softball here.

He's saying "Go fuck yourself!" to those awful bigots.

A child abandoned by a parent, as Obama was by his father, will always mythologize and elevate to sainthood the abandoning parent. It's an emotional compensation mechanism. Obama was compelled to imagine his father as a great revolutionary persecuted by the bigots.

And, Stanley was black dick struck, which is a common dilemma of white leftist women. She never did get over that dashing, revolutionary black dick.

Obama lives in the bizarro world of the left, which is divided into the Good People vs. the Bigots. Everything is explained by this. I can just imagine what Stanley told him about all those Bigots who hated her because of her black dick fetish. She loathed her second husband, a brown skinned bureaucrat who actually did the work of raising her kid. Dull, responsible dick.

In Stanley's world, she was outraging the Bigots with her black dick fetish. Outraging the Bigots with the black dick festish is a favorite of lefty women in Woodstock. After the black dick dumps them, some chump white boy with dreadlocks raises the bastard kid.

In Obama's world, as well as in the world of shits like Ritmo, everything is explained by this dichotomy of the Good People vs. the Bigots.

Cultivated passive aggressive.
He's an angry radical leftist. His every word and deed are geared toward feeding that hatred.
Obama is not the president of all of us, he's the president to his blind faithful. The rest of us can fuck off and die.

Gross, isn't it?

Shouting Thomas said...

Excuse my verbosity, but I've seen so much of this shit.

Stanley's actual fight was with her parents, who undoubtedly saw that Obama, Sr. was big trouble. This fight undoubtedly got externalized into a general battle against the bigots.

In the same way, AndyR, our oppressed gay victim, thinks he's fighting a great battle against the oppressive homophobes.

His battle is with his parents, who want grandchildren.

@ST: Don't speak the names of former commenters like that unless you mean to summon them...I learned that the hard way.

chickelit said...

I guess AR wasn't a commenter here, but you know what I meant.

As for a "softball" -- I was trying to be diplomatic. I want someone to convincingly dismiss the gesture as nothing, or defend its obscenity.

He's a man-child. That's the most terrifying thing of all.

I always got the feeling that W didn't quite see himself as fully grown up either. Or maybe it was that the shadow of his father still fell across him even after he had attained the presidency. But it didn't frighten because I sensed that he had a model of a full grownup to aspire to and he did, he did aspire.

Obama's just a juvenile delinquent with the most power of any man in the world. Terrifying.

deborah said...

Chick, I thought you had a scientific mind. President Obama is has obviously found a way to position his fingers into a tripod to support his idea-laden head.

chickelit said...

@deborah: What convinced me that it wasn't a repose or pensive gesture was how uncomfortable it is to do. Try it.

Shouting Thomas said...

I have a close musician friend (white) who also suffers from the same syndrome.

His daughter got knocked up by a dashing black man who promptly abandoned her and the kid.

My friend can't tolerate confronting the reality that the dashing black man was an asshole who used his daughter and took a hike. That would mean acknowledging that his daughter behaved foolishly in choosing to get knocked up by a black guy.

So, he too is obsessed with the Bigots who must hate his daughter for getting knocked up by a black guy.

It's not that uncomfortable, but he has to know how it looks. Everyone is conscious of their middle fingers looking like they're flipping someone off.

And I guess he was flipping Hillary off when he was dusting the dust off he shoulders.

This where the Don Drapers and Darren Stevens' of the world have gotten us. Thinking a candidate imitating a rap star is sooo cool is what we are now.

Funny, I find the pose very comfortable. I just prefer for my aggressive instincts to be used in a non-passive manner.

Here's what I want to know.

It's been a year since 9/11/12.

Have we, the American people, gotten any closer to knowing WTF happened that day/ night, in Libya and the White House?

I was told the "investigation" had to run its course. I was told to be patient: things would be clarified & disclosed, after the election. Stop politicizing.

This post's photograph gives us the answer.

Icepick said...

AR was gay? I just thought he was an ass.

No, and we're not going to know any more. Because the Administration doesn't want us to know.

After a year they can't tell us what happened in our own compound in Benghazi when we had live video and dozens of people on hand. (Those survivors that they can't get before Congress.) But a few days after an attack in Damascus, in the middle of a civil war in which we are NOT allowed access, they knew what had been done and who had ordered it.

Mysterious stuff, huh?

A friend of mine theorizes that it's Obamas way of "double flipping the bird."

He told me speakers are trained early on not to put their hands on their face as it is believed that it is a kind of a tell for when people are lying. So they are told to consciously and contentiously to avoid doing that.

Obama not only flips the bird to that convention, he also literally flips the bird while doing it.

It's a double Fuck you.

Considering that he is POTUS and he is at the Oval Office, you could perhaps say it's a triple bordering on an inside the mind of Obama fuck you parker.

But, then again, it could also be my racism creeping up on me.

As we all know, our president is incapable of flipping us the bird like that. He is a good and decent man trying to do the right thing.

It's our eyes deceiving us, playing tricks on us. Don't believe what you see, is what is called for.

I feel like I'm flipping everyone off.

I'm too far away for you to do that, and, even if I was close to you and you tried it, it would look like I was helping you.

I used to watch wrestling.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

that's a good question yashu.

Obama's has wagged the dog really well.

It would be his pinnacle achievement as president... if it weren't for Obamacare.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Let me be clear.

If Obama says the finger is a repose, it's a repose, at least until he changes his mind.

He's a bad man, and he doesn't mean well.

Everything flows from that basic fact, down to his FU-in-repose.

While I don't think it's a big deal, this pose is weird.

Shoot. I cant tell this joke here.

Too incendiary.

Score update: Red Sox 5, Tampa Bay 1 top of the six.

If the red sox beat Tampa tonight they will be 9 1/2 games ahead of them in the standings with less than a month of regular season to go.

It's a black thing that made it to show biz through the rappers.

Check out "Men In Black"; Will Smith does it to Tommy Lee Jones when he's told he isn't getting his own neuralyzer.

It's a punk's trick IMHO; the device of somebody without the guts to say (or do) it to his opponent's face.

He did it to the Hildabeast and McCain while speechifying, and, I believe, Miss Sarah.

No one went to bat for Obama so I'll try.

[Imaginary lefty response]:

Stanley Dunham was trapped in a bigoted time warp. Denied the freedom of choice brought later by Roe v. Wade and the dignity bestowed by Loving v. Virginia, she was forced to move abroad to escape bigotry and shame of mainstream American values. Any anger she may have felt and passed on to her son was justified. We should laud her as a heroine and hang our heads when her son reminds us of our collective guilt.

A child abandoned by a parent, as Obama was by his father,...

IIRC, how does the mother never living with the purported father and decamping almost immediately for Mercer Island, Washington qualify as dad abandoning his kidlet?

Question: Has Obama's DNA ever been checked to determine actual paternity? Could Barack Sr. have been a convenient stand in stooge for Frank Marshall Davis who took those racy photos of Stanley Ann? Could Gee-maw and Gee-paw have packed their darling slut daughter off out of town for their own reasons?

Yeah, there are kinds of possibilities for Obama's fucked up mind.

Have I earned my tinfoil hat yet? :-))

Simple. Based on my time and experience in the military and as a "fed", the lie is the truth until the next lie is told. This administration has been a clinic on this technique, one incident after another. No facts are required. Imagination is so much easier to use than actual investigation.

Interesting that Lem says the covert middle finger is not racial in any way but edutcher says its a black thing.

I agree with Lem. It's not of race but of personality. Does a lifetime of being informed by Everyone Important that you Ought to be Angry at White People tend to warp a personality? Why, yes, in some cases. Does it require a special sort of rancid self-involvement to actually believe the obvious bullshit being shilled by Everyone Important? That, too.
