It will all have been a dream

Robin Williams set forth three of the warning signs of cocaine addiction, which apply just as well to methamphetamine, I should think.

Here's warning sign number two: "If you have this dream where you're doing cocaine in your sleep, and you can't fall asleep, and you wake up, and you're doing cocaine . . . BINGO!"

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm of the opinion that Walt is going back to kill pretty much everyone. I think Skyler and the kids are safe, but everyone else is fair game. The prison gang for betraying him on the Jesse hit, Jesse, because he blames him for everything going to Hell, Lydia, and his old partners at GreyMatter for going on Charlie Rose and telling everyone he had nothing to do with the company's success, when they got rich off his patents.

And Marie, just because she's annoying.

And they can't do the dream thing because Dallas and Newhart did that too well already.

I heard on Imus AMC is going to have a marathon from the first episode leading up to the series finale.

Newhart was perfect. Wasn't a huge fan, but the ending was perfect.

It was just last night that I watched, yet again, the final episode of Cheers.

It was okay, but you could tell the writers were working from a checklist.

That said, the absence of Bob Costas was most welcome.

the absence of Bob Costas was most welcome.

That's what tens of millions of sports fans, and the ex-Mrs. Costas, say on a regular basis.

I am with Icepick - I had a discussion this morning with someone who has watched the show and we had some ideas.

What do we know - Walt wants his money back. His family does not want any of his money. Jesse wants to kill Walt. Todd and company do not want to part with the money or Jesse. Lydia is nervous. Marie - well, who gives a flip about her? Skyler, Flynn and the baby, probably safe.

What else do we know - one dramatic foreshadowing was the burning of the money. Staged, sure, but the idea is there.

Meth is explosive. Meth labs burn. One way to kill everyone involved is some sort of a standoff at the compound. Then an errant shot or a purposeful move by someone, the place blows up, the 6 remaining barrels of money explode and there is a rain of flaming 100 dollar bills that then fall gently to earth, like a Kurosawa movie or the last line in a haiku.

What that leaves unexplained is why Walt retrieves the ricin - who is that for?

We might just have to wait and see - as I have said before, I cannot accurately predict the path the writers will take.

Icepick said...

Sixty, the ricin is either for Lydia or himself.

I guess it has already been filmed, but it sure would be nice if we could get Bob Costas blown up, too. You know, just because.

Fuckin' anti-American midget commie rat bastard.

Wait, did I type that out loud?

And maybe I'm completely wrong. Maybe what pissed Walt off was seeing Charlie Rose. Maybe he's going to go kill Charlie Rose, and he wants everything he can get his hands on to kill the bastard because, who knows, maybe Charlie will be as hard to kill as Rasputin. Better bring some rope and a frozen river just in case....

Catch him when he's interviewing Bob C. and get a twofer!

Wins the thread!

For a while I've had the notion that Walt might kill his family, but probably not, because I don't know how the American audience would take it.

But it would be realistic from the standpoint of a Law and Order where a man was accused of murdering his family, on the basis of the psychiatrist's possible diagnosis of family annihilator(?) Something about the guy had ego issues and couldn't believe his family could get along without him...They must have been getting a divorce, or something. Anyway, Walt has severe control issues. Just a thought.

I def agree about the cooking explosion taking out the Lydia and gang. I'm thinking Jesse will live and disappear with Brock.

Is there anyone more annoying than Bryan Williams? Oh, yeah, Nancy Grace.

Bryant Gumbal.

Nancy Grace and Keith Olberman are in their own separate category of annoying.

The reason Walt's family is probably safe. Flynn (no longer Walt Jr.) chewing Walt out left him broken, and he gave up. It wasn't until his old business partners pissed on his contribution that he decided to get his Heisenberg on.

Sixty's giving ripic some competition!

I used to think Bob Costas was the worst - until I saw Kieth Olbermann.

Off topic - had time to watch some old "classic" football and baseball games with Howie Cosell as the color analyst.

And y'know what? Cosell was really fucking annoying. I saw Cosell as a young kid and thought he was super smart - know I realize he was just a pompous ass who must have been blackmailing someone at ABC.
