al-Assad tells CBS: ‘US has no evidence that I used chemical weapons'

"In first American TV interview for two years, Syrian dictator says he did not authorise the alleged Damascus bombing"
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has denied that he had anything to do with the alleged 21 August Damascus chemical weapons attack, in his first interview on American television for two years.
Speaking to CBS’s Charlie Rose, Mr Assad said: “There is no evidence that I used chemical weapons against my own people.”
The interview in full is not set to be aired until late tonight, but Mr Rose has appeared on the network’s Face the Nation programme to reveal what he discussed with the Syrian dictator.

Now I'm hearing on CNN that Putin and Cameron are making proposals to al-Assad aimed at preventing the US military strike.

Obama may yet come out of this smelling like a rose.

But Obama is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

Bombs away!

Obama is just waiting for something beyond his control to get him out of this situation. He waits for circumstances to improve where he can take credit or avoid blame, he counts on someone else to fix things for him. I expect that to happen. There are a lot of people who are willing to do things that help and they will eventually. If that doesn't happen, then we can expect Syria to disappear from media coverage. It will become a missing country that nobody talks about anymore, like the IRS, Benghazi, Fast and furious, etc. It will be erased.

My suggestion that al-Assad invite Obama over for a beer summit went nowhere.

Remember during the election when Urkel told Medvedev that he would be more flexible? Guess what? The Presidential Splits are looking pretty good to Putin right now.

Assad better watch his ass, or we will hit him with such an unbelievably small attack that he won't know what hit him.

We are currently testing a new drone delivered wedgie ordinance. He is gonna be so sorry.

Assad's death would bail out Obama.

Charlie Rose missed his chance but I'd suggest to Mr. A that he not agree to an interview with anyone from MSNBC.

So John Kerry - who served in Vietnam - goes out there and says that Syria can avoid a military attack by the Obama regime if he turns over the chemical weapons to the international community.

Then Syrian foreign minister Walid Muallem says he welcomes the initiative, essentially agreeing to give up the weapons.

And in response to this face-saving open door to peace, the Obama regime goes out and insists that Kerry was merely making a “rhetorical argument” rather than a serious offer.

So, get rid of all pretexts to attack Syria and Obama is still lusting for blood. In his heart, Obama is himself a petty third-world thug.

I don't see a whole lot of moral clarity in Obama's various positions, possibly because most of his positions are poses......I think Assad used chemical weapons, and that this is a very bad thing. Why can't Obama find some kind of consensus in expressing disapproval of this crime?

Let me guess: They're going to truck the chemical weapons over to Iran.

Syria has volunteered to ship them to Israel ... one missile at a time.

I think they'll ship them to Mexico just to see who might use them.

This is reminiscent of Willy and Nicky and George all telegraphing each other in July, '14.

If Choom wants it, he'll go, regardless.

No, he's already made an ass of himself for all the world to see.

The damage is done.

From the SoS hisself, according to Ace and Dily Caller.

Aren't we all glad it was never President Lurch?

There is ample Obama precedent for this because the same thing happens to Michelle's vagina when they knock boots. That is why she is always scowling.
