Lust in Space?

This is what Judy Robinson looked like in the original Lost in Space.

This is what Judy Robinson looks like in the new Netflicks production of Lost in Space.

Just another example of how political correctness ruins everything.

Inspector General Report on the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton.

As a result of the known OIG investigative findings already the top FBI and DOJ officials in charge of the Clinton investigation have been fired, demoted or removed from responsibility:
Oh. Oh. This is my favorite part, c/p across several posts. Committed to memory, like a rosary. Recognizable on sight like an Egyptian offering in hieroglyphics. The whole formula jumps out as a block, it's clustered elements overly familiar:
Director James Comey (fired), Deputy Director Andrew McCabe (fired), FBI Legal Counsel James Baker (removed – status unknown);  FBI investigative Agent Peter Strzok (demoted, reassigned); DOJ special counsel to McCabe, Lisa Page, (removed, reassigned); and DOJ Deputy AAG Bruce Ohr (demoted, twice).
Additionally other officials resigned immediately after the preliminary IG findings were made public: FBI Communications Director Mike Kortan (quit); Director Comey Chief-of-Staff, Jim Rybicki (quit); DOJ-NSD DAAG Mary McCord (quit); DOJ Deputy AAG David Laufman (quit).
Slurp gurgle gurgle gurgle, swirl, swish, swoosh, gurgle, glug, glug, glub, glub, glub, bubble, bubble, glug. The sound of a swamp draining and clogging. But where does it go?
In total, almost no-one within the “small group” conducting the Clinton email investigation has survived initial Office of Inspector General scrutiny.
And it can only get worse.

Much worse.

The post at the Treehouse includes videos produced by a former Washington reporter, a series in five parts. It's all review. All recap. Perhaps more accurately all recrap. We heard all this crap before, repeatedly, as it developed, but the wrath of God has not fallen upon them. No fire, no brimstone.

Yet.

And I must say it is wearisome seeing and hearing the same voices all over again. SILENCE!  But here it all is again organized all over again, so that all the dreadful pieces contrast next to each other so that sense can be made of the previous dissimilation and outright lies. We see why people lied and how their lies changed to fit the new needs as they arose. And how important people covered for other important people so that very important people could skate. La la la. And now the IG report threatens to burn down and blow away the ashes of their trembling Pearl Mosque of cards.

Notice the urgent music and panning of legal symbols, law books and scale, judges gavel. That there's what you call production value.

I hate every single one.

Because they shouldn't even be necessary and because I know they'll get so pathetic few views. This should have been discussed every night ad nauseam across all media national and parroted locally, until Hillary Clinton hung herself in despair, until Comey shot himself in the head, until McCabe dropped himself off a bridge and everyone else was jailed crying for forgiveness. I hate these videos because they shouldn't even be here discussing the basics. The original Watergate was 1/1000 this bad but received 1000X this much intense journalistic investigation. And Hillary Clinton was at the heart of it! So vicious they were forced to let her go. All these people would be history already were it not for our hopelessly corrupted media 100% in the tank for the Democrat Party, covering their crimes, and interested only Republicans nipping ineffectually at their heels.

And all this is just half of it. The other half of their crimes are what they did to squelch Trump.

Why, this is worse than the Teapot Dome, the Whiskey ring, The Sickles murder case, The Burr conspiracy, the XYZ affair, Crédit Mobilier, the Keating five, all pushed together. And there's our national media with local media in tow with the sheet pulled over their heads, "Hey, leave Britany alone!"

Seeds

It was just one packet of seeds from eBay. Ordinary heirloom type Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seeds, not anything like the newer exotic hybrids. Just standard. I dropped them into the dirt without fanfare, they germinated within a few days and took off. Froze and died. I planted more, they germinated within a few days, took off like rockets, got hailed on flooded and died. I planted more from the same packet, they germinated within a few days, took off like rockets, continued to grow what a appeared to be nearly an inch a day, reached to the light from all sides, grew up sticks, across the tops of adjoining pots, over to the bottom of the balcony railing, crawled up the railing, grew across the railing in both directions, grew outward toward the sun, sagged and drooped, grew back up its own looped vine, grew across the balcony, back and forth doubling on itself, tripling, quadrupling across the confined space of the railing so that no railing remained uncovered to use for balance without smashing some vines in your hand. The entire mass bloomed across the whole balcony and produced seedpods at each transient bloom, dried to a brown crisp, and died.

The package of seeds produced uncounted thousands of seeds. Each pod has four seeds.

Far in excess of the original package.

I cannot just throw them away. Why, that would be wasteful.

They were packaged, say, 100 per ziplock, and labeled simply with magic marker, and distributed to the women I know and forced upon a few men who I don't know, simply to be a pain in the butt to them. A few mentioned they have no interest in plants, don't care for the nurturing, and have black thumbs, how discouraging! While others I notice make some kind of attempt at maintaining potted plants on their balcony. The whole place is mostly young people with no time or interest in this sort of thing.

Since then I learned a few things about bringing the jungle to Denver, which plant species work and which plants do not work. Which ones are easy with great return and which ones are difficult and with scant payoff.

Just coming back from the nursery with a cart of plants generates interest. "What are those bright green leaves?"

"Sweet potato. Here, take this."

One single sweet potato plant can give a girl untold boost in her plant growing confidence. They are very rewarding, while their broad spreading plainness creates a desire for additional colorful things that grow upward instead of downward.

Caladiums. That's the way to go around here. Their foliage is varied and colorful as exotic blooms.

Now the women ask me for more seeds. They discuss their success and their amazement and thrill from the previous year. They describe their intentions now that they know what happens. Collectively they're really excited with expectation for flower-filled season and satisfaction of knowing they're not so bad with plants.

I gave away three packets of hundreds of seeds each today. While in the office I asked why those two boxes of knives are still there. "What knives?"

"Those two boxes behind your monitor."

"What? Those? What are those?

"One is for Deena the other one is for Liz."

"I'm Liz."

"Jesus Christ. I didn't even recognize you. No fair changing your appearance so dramatically."

She opened her box of knives, they're cheap as hell but they look beautiful and they're well presented in their magnetic box. And I thought she was going to cry. She shut up for a moment. I'd say, speechless.

"Bo, I love the knife that you gave me. I wash it off each time separate from everything else, and put back in its box with its little plastic protectors and put it in its own special drawer. And I told everyone in my family, YOU JUST TOUCH THIS GODDAMN KNIFE AND I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! Ha ha ha ha ha, I have to be firm with my kids. It's my all-time favorite knife. I love it. Thank you."

"I have one and I don't love it. I didn't know the Japanese bevel only one side. It makes the knife turn inward on the down slice. Perfect for cutting the peel off oranges, but imperfect for everything else. That's why I got these. I think you'll like these a lot better."

Look. Inexpensive knives are like inexpensive flowering vine seeds. They spread joy way out of proportion to their cost. They're nearly free.

The variety of morning glory seeds is near endless. The ones that we're doing are blue.

I also bought the women oxalis triangularus bulbs that look like bullets. I want them to love them like I do. Best to have at least twenty.

And I also bought them random caladium bulbs because those are just flat extreme. They like the ones last year so much they brought their plants inside to keep them going long as possible. That changed their pattern responding to season and to warmth and to light. So they're learning, as I am.

I bought early this year, and bought extra like last year. They haven't arrived yet. The place doesn't ship them until weather allows. Right about now. There is no point to planting them until the dirt stays warm overnight. But the women are raring to go. It's fun.

I realized I can spread this a lot further. The women in the shops around here are used to me now. I can simply spring these on them without warning, little packages of these various bulbs and seeds, a lunch bag stuffed with caladium bulbs, oxalis triangularus, and morning glory seeds. Impose them. Compel the women to plant them and at least try to keep up with the care. And watch the joy bloom.

Amazon responds to Seattle's proposed head tax by pausing construction projects

Item seen on Drudge linked to KOMO news reporting the tax intended will apply (only) (for now) to companies with $20 million or more annual taxable receipts. Lawmakers are leaning on 500 businesses. The idea is charge (only) (for now) 26 cents per hour per employee up to $500 maximum per employee. They want to raise $75 million per year for affordable housing.

Let's stop right here and apply all that we know about responsible legislation, before reading more about how legislatures think and speak, and how businessmen act who've used advancing technology to changed the face of marketing globally.

* drums fingers*

* ding * Time's up.

Shhhh. One of them's talking.
"From our small businesses to our start-ups, our jobs are critical to our City's economy, budget, and growth. Our workers add to the vitality of our region and support our arts, cultural, and non-profit community. I'm deeply concerned about the impact this decision will have on a large range of jobs - from our building trades, to restaurant workers, to nurses, manufacturing jobs and tech workers,"
Deeply concerned. It's the mayor. He continues.
At the same time, our City must urgently address our homelessness and affordability crisis and lift up those who have been left behind. I fundamentally believe we can do both by working together. In the upcoming days, I will be bringing together Councilmembers as well business, labor and our community leaders to work together to see how we might forge common ground in dealing with our challenges while keeping jobs.
When you need money you got to go where the money is and grab it. This is classic tax the 1%, again, to fulfill socialist impulses. It is a charming Robin Hood mentality.

But wait, it gets better. Here is another City Council member talking.
I understand Amazon doesn't like it. I'm sure they would love to go to a city that has no taxes. And maybe they will find that place,"
Logic fallacy. The undistributed middle. Rhetorical devise. She moves the slider from bizarre additional tax to no tax, to make her preciously girlishly aggressive point. Little girls do this. Amazon is already taxed multiple ways by a stack of taxes in actuality. They agreed to be taxed. They bring more opportunity for more taxes through increased business at every level, so, multiple points for multiple layers of increased taxation. Nobody said anything about "a place with no taxes." That's ridiculously inanely girlish.
I want to work with [Amazon], I would love for [Amazon] to continue to grow in Seattle, but I need [Amazon's] help solving this crisis.
She doesn't want to work with Amazon. She wants to control Amazon. She's insanely jealous of Amazon and their mad abilities and she wants another, larger, piece of Amazon.
Amazon is perfectly capable of paying that, double, even four times that.
Six times, Ten times. Eleventy times! In an instance of acute self-unconsciousness, she also called Amazon's tactic "extortion."

Another Council member spoke.
Who loses? Low-income people lose, and we have an increase in homelessness,
Again I'm hopeful that we’re going to come out of this with not only an understanding of the problems but an understanding of the solutions.
While Amazon didn’t single-handedly cause this problem, they have contributed to the growing income inequality, displacement and housing affordability issues facing our City. That is precisely why -- in their visits with 20 other cities -- Amazon has sought to speak with elected officials about plans to proactively address those consequences. It seems only fair that as so many struggle to make their way through a tax system that’s rigged in favor of large corporations, that we ask those same corporations to financially contribute to the public health and housing solutions designed to address those consequences.
Greater shared responsibility equals greater shared prosperity for all, businesses and residents alike.
The argument gets really good. Great back and forth. Not all council members feel the same way. There is much more at the link if this is your cup of tea. Others put up contray perspective. Too bad. Robin Hood got no time for this:
Amazon’s growth in the heart of the city has had a significant economic benefit for small, medium and large businesses in Seattle across a number of sectors. A pause in that growth will be felt by many - from construction workers to hotels to small businesses. This news should serve as a wake-up call to those proposing a risky plan to tax jobs in Seattle.

Seen yesterday on my walkabout:

And a hawk:

Potato for dinner

Why did Van Gough paint the people so ugly?

He made the people look like potatoes.

The woman is pouring coffee and they're eating a communal potato casserole. It doesn't look that bad at all. They earned their dinner by tilling the soil. I guess. It depicts honest crudeness.

But that's nothing against potatoes. Potatoes are fab u lus.

A little butter, some cheese, a bit of milk, herbs from a bush, an onion, and you have a tremendously satisfying meal right there. Add chunks of ham, and BLAMO, another whole level.

I have two friends whose favorite meal is simple seared steak and baked potato. Simple as can be. I played this joke on both of them at different times. They both reacted similarly, like, get outta here.

"Hey! I'll make dinner tonight. I'm thinking about making steak and French fries. How's that sound? No wait. Steak and scalloped potatoes. No wait. Simple boiled potato. No. Diced potatoes and carrots. Potato soufflé. Potato soup. Potato salad. Hashed browns. Potato latkes. Potato dumplings. Steak and potato bread. Does that sound good?"

It was starting to become clear that I was avoiding saying the word "baked" potatoes.

"Potato filled potato dough dumplings. No, how's this? Mashed potato with horseradish, no, with parmesan cheese, no, with lemon dill, no, with sea salt and rosemary. Potato skins with bacon. Fork-crushed with roasted garlic. No wait, no wait, no wait, I got this, I got this, steak and spiral cut potatoes. Boiled potatoes with butter and roasted garlic. Steak and haystack potatoes. Purple and red potatoes. Hasselhoff potatoes!"

It's very easy to think up a million potato things.

"Come on, that'll be great. Potato and beef steak stew. Microwaved smashed potato and egg with a hamburger and cheese. Steak with slices of potato fried in butter as a cake. Steak and potatoes cut as French fries but boiled in water and coated with butter and sour cream and herbs. Potatoes sliced on the grill.  Potato and turnips with spinach. Potato and steak as shepherd's pie. Potato hedgehog, potato mountain, potato boat, potato base, potato top. potato creamed, potato chips, potato chunks, potato flecks, shredded potato, dehydrated potato, potato flakes, potato starch, potato coating, potato filling."

I still haven't said baked potato and they're sensing this might be a joke.

"Potato pants, potato shirt, potato hat, potato shoes, potato gloves, potato coat, potato sweater."

I'm avoiding saying "jacket" potato because that's a baked potato.

"Potato socks, potato parka, potato trench coat, potato raincoat, potato underwear, potato dress."

They don't know why I'm saying clothes, but it's clear now they're being f'd with.

"Potato mittens. Potato ski mask. Potato boots, potato high heels, potato kimono, potato cape, potato scarf."

"I hate you."

Tonight I made potato chips for dinner. And it's stupid because I have a whole new bag of potato chips in the pantry that stick right out because the bag is puffed up with nitrogen. Its like a balloon full of potato chips.

If I opened the bag, I would finish it. The whole bag. But I wanted to fry them myself. I wanted to control the amount to exactly one potato worth. I know that I ate precisely one potato. And it was fun. I've become really good at this potato chip making thing.

The key is to have a mandolin with the slices going directly into water to rinse off surface starch, and a bunch of clean kitchen towels. I also like finely ground sea salt. It's very mineral-y and has less concentrated sodium. I think.

Potato chips and dip for dinner. I'll have to get today's vitamins elsewhere.

The original cartoon by Stiglick for Creators.com was seen heading the day's posts on Lucianne.com

The one-liners were seen in PJ Media post 4 Journalists Who Praised Michelle Wolf and her Correspondents' Dinner Speech, down in the comments by reader Fred Beloit who re-worded them from Jokes4us.com leaving out the dirtiest ones available.

One NYT writer said this is a win for Wolf, a win for the Correspondents' Dinner, and a win for journalism because it took the national discussion from Trump and his rally that was intended to distract. Her speech won the day.

Imagine the mentality it takes to conclude that, the value system, the logic and rationalization and defense system to write it. Her entire field is discredited hugely, minds were actually changed and quite negatively, it was a transformative event and extremely damaging to journalism, and Trump came out clean and enhanced. His support solidified and grew by his rally. He made several important points for people who listen, while general perception of American journalism diminished, but because the people who discuss the discussing, shape the discussion, preen that they've discussed themselves more negatively than they discussed their president positively. They're the ones doing the discussing! Her profession kicked itself in the nuts and NYT writer doesn't know it. That's why Fred Belot rewrote all the jokes specifically to NYT female writer and not to any plain general journalist.

I did not make this. I did not draw the cartoon, nor make the jokes. I'm showing what other people thought and did. Because they crack me up and warm my heart.

Trump is a stepfather who is going to rape us.

I've seen this discussed on a few places. A woman named Virginia Heffernan who writes for a place called Wired wrote this tweet that fairly well summarizes how right wing writers characterize liberal psychology. It's somewhat surprising seeing the damaged psychology admitted this freely. She writes as a child.
Do. Tell us more of your daddy issues and how that relates to high government office. If this is the starting point of our discussion, then we have no reasonable sensible discussion to make together on anything about government.

Trump presents Commander-in-Chief Trophy to U.S. Army Football Team

It's like Academy Awards in politics except there is only one. I guess. I don't know. I don't understand it. It's an honor. The students sure do regard it an honor. The general does. My favorite part is the beginning when Trump says, "at ease" like a real commander, and they do, they actually fall into ease, shifting back and forth, the tiers of cadets swaying oppositely. It's funny.

One time I yelled at my dog for spazzing out, "RELAX!" And she did. She was actually twirling on the end of the leash, then stopped dead awaiting the next instruction in a new calmed state. She stopped spazzing out and relaxed. And from then on she relaxed on command. She instantly calmed herself right down no matter what just by telling her to. And I thought, man, this dog is easy to train. She's thinking the same thing about me.

That's what this reminded me of.

I know. I know. I know.

It's an old joke but it still gets me. It's our version of the North Korean military uniforms. Don't you find North Korean military uniforms ridiculous? Their exaggerated hats like sombreros, their exaggerated medals and ribbons that go to the floor.

The more of these ribbons you have, the more experience you show. But showing it, that's the thing. Displaying your experience in readable form. As if anyone reads them. They just see the size of your patch of ribbons. The military is extremely class conscious within its own class. Outside the military that's gouache. Imagine in business if we all went around displaying our curriculum vitae, our résumé on our chests like this. Constantly bragging about our position. I suppose in a way we do, by the tailoring of our suits, our ties and pocket squares, our watches cufflinks and leather shoes. Our automobiles. Our language. Our emotional control.

When Trump called for Mark,
Secretary of the Army Mark Esper. Where is Mark? Mark. Mark. Mark? How are you, Mark? Doing a great job. And a man that has gotten more publicity than me, lately, our new Secretary of State –- first in his class at West Point. Is that a true story?
I slipped into a laughing fit that would not stop. The Mark. Mark. Mark. part cracked me up so hard, it connected to other similar funny things, other Trumpisms, how that drives people insane, the casual schmoozing, the repeating of the name, the drilling of it, awarding a football team, getting in the guy's credentials, the thought of people seeing this and becoming disgusted, the things that disgust people, Trump's delight in these things, everybody going along, the formality of it, my body convulsed involuntarily, a real seizure of crunch exercises through laughter, intense isometrics, that left me wracked. Exactly like a seizure. Choked breathing. My sides still hurt from laughing so hard, and it just kept rolling.

These boys are dead serious.

Paul told me about his trip to Grand Canyon. His hike to the bottom and back was quite an experience, he detailed it to me. Donkey trials, dust on shoes, every detail. He included encountering a young man with a woman coming up as he went down. "You look like an Army academy cadet."

"Yes sir!"

Seeing Paul imitate this encounter is hilarious itself. They are opposite men from opposite worlds. The cadet made the woman get up at 5:00 in the morning and they had been hiking from 15 miles away, down into the canyon, through it, from the opposite side, then back. Much further than Paul would go. Paul met them as he was just starting out. They were finishing up. Imagine how hard it is for the woman just to have this cadet in her life. Clearly, keeping up with him is exhausting. And that's him having fun. The bags all packed and ready to go, a check list all checked, the trunk packed up just so, the dishwasher loaded as the manual describes. The air filters changed out on schedule, batteries in the smoke alarms changed out on schedule, the lawn mowed every week, the windows and mirrors and baseboards kept spotless. The cadet brings that military snappiness and drilled in discipline with him to civilian encounters. And it's startling when you see it. There's a whole different world.

Peach cupcakes

I made these twice. Apparently. I actually remember only once.

I don't like them, myself, so I took the peach cupcakes downstairs and outside and distributed them among the ladies I know. And they flipped the f out. I'm not hearing the end of it. Three times in the last month Deena has mentioned these cupcakes, most recently yesterday. She was describing me to her sister and said these were the best things I ever made. Ding. That's three times. I'm officially being nagged.

To make them you need a couple little tins like this, a mini-ball pan by Wilton.

Tinned peaches. Bleh. When Colorado has fantastic peaches in season. But what the heck, a girl wants what a girl wants. Blend all that with the syrup and that becomes the liquid portion for regular cake batter.

Then when they bake they create another dome and that is sliced off flat. So two flat halves fit together for a ball. Icing holds them together.

Then, here's the thing. Icing for the outside is dry white sugar with a drop of food coloring added and shaken all around. One small bowl for  red and another for yellow. The balls are rolled around in the sugar and it sticks to the naked cupcakes in blushed tones. The intensity is determined by you rolling them around. They're already tan from baking in the pan.

Then think of something for a stem. An actual stem. A piece of cinnamon stick. A stem of mint. In one batch I put an almond in each half. So each half had its own ersatz peach stone.

*Whispers* They're not very good. I don't know why Deena likes them.

Worth it, fish, $9.00 vs $140.00

They're in Hawaii.

I watched this video a few weeks ago and I've been thinking about it ever since. I like the way these two guys stay open minded to what each place is trying to do. The first low-end place doesn't even have seating, and the last place serves pretentiously a salt-packed whole fish. The whole time I was thinking, the 80's called and said they want their gimmicky food preparation back.

And I expected the Buzzfeed hotshots to agree with me. Instead they said it was transformational. The fish was transformed. They were transformed.

The thing is, they really don't know what they're talking about, and don't pretend to. The whole thing is an experiment after all. They're doing this to learn.

Internet, help a brother out. What does a salt crust do?

Lemme guess lemme guess lemme guess.

It creates a very tight oven. An oven within an oven. It draws out moisture to the surface then traps it and steams the fish. It imparts a faint taste of salt. It creates a uniform buffer. It's like a pan that touches all parts of the fish and heats evenly all at once. It's a great gimmick. It gives the impression that you know what you're doing.

Bon Appétite, Salt Crusts, Chris Hall. They should know a thing or two. Chris tried it and wrote about his experience.
Cooking a whole fish in a salt crust is a fine idea—if you don't own any cooking vessels and live on the edge of a salt marsh. Otherwise, it's sort of a gimmick. There are better ways to cook a whole fish. Don't you agree?
Then.
The salt crust did nothing for the taste or texture of this fish that plain roasting in the oven (with or without a savory topping) wouldn't have done, possibly better, with less trouble. And what's this business about "spectacular presentation?" The fish is cooked on foil on a rimmed baking sheet, for heaven's sake, hardly the thing you'd bring to the table. If you want truly superior flavor and spectacular presentation, try cooking fish with a few vegetables in parchment paper.
The restaurant scene shows how it's served. No baking tray, no tinfoil.

The salt works to seal in moisture and gently steam the food in its own juices, seasoning it slightly in the meantime. The finished product is invariably moist, succulent and bursting with flavor.
“Salt-baked fish is a bit of a Spanish technique, and really keeps the flesh juicy while it cooks”
Salt-baking fish seals in moisture and seasons at the same time; be sure to discard the skin.
Genius Kitchen, comment to instructions.
Hubby love fish done this way in Italy. I always wanted to try doing it at home. This made the fish so moist. Well sure be making this again. Was so cheap to with the fish from a friend and the salad and herbs from my garden. So easy too.
The fish becomes encased in the salt crust, which results is a very tender, moist fish.
Its that all you guys got? You all say the same thing. And no one bothered with a side-by-side comparison. I agree with Bon Appétite, parchment, tin foil, or a clay cloche, a pan with a tight fitting lid will do the same thing. And you don't have to waste a pound of salt and make a huge mess. It's a gimmick. I tried this once and it was all the eh.

High School seniors deface flag.

They spray painted a large American flag in black "Seniors 2K18" and hung it front the school entrance. The principal was all, I'm going to break their scrawny little necks, then realized maybe they'll respond to veterans talking to them about what the flag means.

It looks like 2K181 to me.

Bless their little hearts. They didn't make the connection between the flag and veterans. They never thought about what the flag means to people. They hadn't been taught. They didn't know. O2B17.

The video and the posts are titled, "A teachable moment."

How Oprah Winfrey. But it actually is a teachable moment.

They're not punks. They got far as high school senior and had not been taught. Of course, to some being taught would amount to being brainwashed. So, now what? They're likely to go off and vote for the likes of Trump.

This is only half the video.

Two-minute video on Fox News Insider. (You have to click "read the full article" for the video to show.) The fuller two minute version really is interesting.

New NRA ad

We're at the point now of just throwing rocks at each other. The left will always go after guns and the NRA whom they despise. They say the exact same things time after time and there is no convincing them they're attacking the wrong people. They know what they know, and they feel what they feel. They are listening alright. But not openly.

I saw this on Censored News with a link to the wrong thing on Gateway Pundit. Nothing on Gateway Pundit matches. So I found the ad otherwise.

It's dreadful.

But maybe you'll like it. The ad is Dana Loesch accusing "they" of using "their" media to assassinate real news, "they" use our schools to teach our students our president is another Hitler. "They" use their [entertainers and award shows] to repeat their message ad nauseam. Then "they" use their ex-president to address the resistance.

She's so lovely. And yet so harsh at the same time. I can see why people don't like this.

Search engines being what they are you'll see more links to opponents of the ad in results than you will see links to the ad.

So I get the pleasure of reading a writer on Huffington Post decrying the ad as a new low for the NRA as if he doesn't know who "they" are when he knows full well "they" are himself and his readers.

And I got to see a video of a father of a school shooting victim on CNN decrying the NRA as a damaging lobby. That again. No mention of his own county officials actuating Obama's policy of keeping minority students off police records, and being quite proud of it.  He's got his focus and he's sticking with it.

You know how people get. There is no talking to them. None. Forget about changing their minds or setting their focus on the right targets. That is not going to happen.

Anecdote alert.

This kind of fits. I met a young man on Sunday. A real go-getter in real estate. He's fat and he has touch of body dysmorphia. He thinks he's 6.1 but he's shorter than I am. What's up with that, anyway? They must think other 6 foot people cannot tell. So there's that misperception right off.

He asked me what I had been doing. I told him reading and writing. About what? About tattoos and Tump rally in lieu of attending White House Correspondents Dinner. He said, "those people are brainwashed."

And I thought, I'm talking to an idiot. Go easy. "Brainwashed."

"Yea."

"Brainwashed." That's where you capture people in places like classrooms and across media and drill the living propaganda into them. That's what he thinks about people who attend Trump rallies.

But not himself.

"Yeah. Trump has ... this way ...  of convincing people of ... weird things. And gets them worked up."

He has it exactly backwards. Trump is reflecting, Trump is actually representing, a new thing for his supporters, Trump is saying what his supporters need him to say, their thoughts, and now he's actually coming through on his rhetoric that the left finds so appalling and so deeply threatening. He is not uniparty. The young man is so wrong, his inversion is further inverted, then inverted again, it's like folding up the ends of the legs of your jeans so they fit, but inwards, not outwards, then the fold refolded and refolded again so your jeans fit but with a huge lump of wrongness clumped over your shoes. That's him. Clumpy fitted jeans of wrongness.

"See, I'm from Wisconsin ... so I know ... what's going on."

Aaah, well, here it is. Being from Wisconsin does automatically make one specially qualified. Best drop the subject. Be off already. Go. Go forth in wrongness. There's no point to even trying to dissuade a brainwashed individual from believing others are not brainwashed as he is. Our conversation must end here. It's actually kind of fun watching people struggle with this. You get the dopiest things. The best he could do was to be incredibly dismissive. Surprisingly shallow. His perception takes him no further than that.  I was glad to see him go. His inflated self regard is too precious to disrupt. Let him think he's actually 6.1 with perception more acute than the brainwashed who inflicted Trump. Because he hasn't seen anything yet. Brainwashing, he knows about that.
