NBC sorry for ignorant, insensitive comment

That's one of 4 mini headlines above Drudge's main headline this morning. The link goes to MSN featuring a photograph that is larger than the article.
In the booth with Mike Tirico and Katie Couric, NBC Asian correspondent Joshua Cooper Ramo said that "every Korean" respected Japan for their recent achievements as a nation, insinuating that South Korea had forgotten about the 35 brutal years of Japanese rule that ended after World War II.
There's nothing funny about this but I had to laugh at Wikipedia description of Joshua Cooper Ramo. This is too hasty for Wikipedia, it's sure to be edited. After describing his career as vice chairman and co-chief executive of Kissinger Associates, and relating his arc through Newsweek and Time magazine they add this:
He commented for NBC during the opening ceremonies of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. He made idiotic comments while making a reference to Japan, for which NBC forced him to read a letter of apology on-air.
One wrong move and you're an idiot on Wikipedia in hours.

The Koreans, much like the Muslims, won't forget events from 400 years ago, much less 70.

I take online surveys, each asks what racial group I am and, seperately,if Im Hispanic and then asks what subcategory of Hispanic, Mexican, Cuban, etc. Asian is lumped into one category, no questions of ethnicity. What sense does that make? Hispania is more homogenous than diverse Asia.

Ampersand, Hispania doesn't exist anymore and therefore, neither do Hispanics. The entire categorization is dumb. it might as well be equated to saying that all Asians look alike. Since that survey seems to think so too.

Oh well. Tori Campbell is still available for Asian commentary.
