The Bird That Does Unbelievable Impressions

"A lyrebird is either of two species of ground-dwelling Australian birds, that form the genus, Menura, and the family Menuridae. They are most notable for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their environment. Lyrebirds have unique plumes of neutral coloured tailfeathers.
Lyrebirds are among Australia's best-known native birds. As well as their extraordinary mimicking ability, lyrebirds are notable because of the striking beauty of the male bird's huge tail when it is fanned out in display; and also because of their courtship display."

I'd spend a few minutes teaching him to sing "Having My Baby". I mean, dude, say what you mean for Christ's sake. You can't just spew out every pick up line you ever heard and expect it work.

I think he was hitting on Attenborough with that lumberjack stuff.

I did lure a woman home once by imitating the sounds of a wine bottle opening followed by the hum of a vibrator.

Listen for catbirds, brown thrashers and mockingbirds in America.

Easily distinguished by their tendency to repeat each song once, twice and three times respectively.

All mimics.

If they won't, they probably need to see the doctor. At least if they are between the ages of (roughly) 15 and 55.

Geez I sure hope he got laid. He was working so hard at it.

We went to a ranch the other day that had a bunch of chickens and a few peacocks. There were no peahens since when they sit on their eggs they become easy targets for the coyotes.

The males, peacocks, were flirting with the chickens. Spreading their beautiful tail feathers and strutting around. The chickens were confused and annoyed. I felt pretty bad for the poor bachelor peacocks. Ever hopeful and never gonna get any.
